Beihai, designated as one of the top tourist cities in China, is a famous health, holiday and winter resort with typical subtropical beach scenery. The well-known Beihai Silver Beach has been rebuilt and returned to nature. The beach is white and soft, the sea is clear, the sun is warm, the air is fresh, and there are no sharks in the nearby waters, so it is quite safe for swimmers. Other famous scenic spots include Weizhou Island, the largest volcanic island in China, and the National Marine Nature Reserve.
