Introduction to Jianhu County

Jianhu Lake is located in the hinterland of Xiahe River in Suzhongli, Jiangsu Province and belongs to Yancheng City. The geographical location is 33°16′～33°41′ north latitude and 119°33′～120°05′ east longitude. The total area of ??the county is 1,160 square kilometers, of which the land area is 906 square kilometers, accounting for 78.1%, and the water area is 254 square kilometers, accounting for 21.9%. Jianhu County ranked among the top 500 counties and cities in the quality of new urbanization in small and medium-sized cities in 2013, ranking 245th on the list. In September 1941, Yancheng County was divided into counties, and the northern part was divided into Jianyang County. Jianyang County in Fujian Province has the same name and was renamed Jianhu County in July 1951. The name "Jianhu" was derived from the first characters of the two towns in the county, Jianyang and Huduo (today's Jinhu). Jianhu Lake is located on the coast of the Yellow Sea and backed by the Northern Jiangsu Plain. It is known as the "Pearl of the Water Town". Jianhu is one of the top 100 counties (cities) with basic economic competitiveness in the country, and is also a civilized county in the country. Jianhu County is located in the hinterland of Lixiahe area in central Jiangsu Province. It is a famous hometown of acrobatics and Huai opera. Xinchang Railway, Yanxu Expressway and Jianfu Expressway pass through the territory. It covers an area of ??1,160 square kilometers, including 60,700 hectares of cultivated land and 26,700 hectares of water surface. The population is 802,500 (registered population in 2013).
