What are the five new cities?

Five new towns refer to the five new towns to be built in Shanghai during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, namely:

Nanhui new city 1:

Nanhui New Town is one of the five new towns proposed by Shanghai 202 1. It is also the main urban area of Lingang New District in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and the core bearing area for Lingang New District to build a special economic functional zone with strong international market influence and competitiveness.

2. Qingpu New Town:

Qingpu New Town is a "multi-core" node in Shanghai's urban spatial layout structure and one of the five new towns in Shanghai's overall urban planning. The new city is located in the center of Qingpu District, where the district government is located, and it is the traffic convergence point and industrial concentration point of the whole region.

3. Fengxian New Town:

Fengxian New Town is one of the five new towns promoted by Shanghai's overall urban planning in 2035. In the 14th Five-Year Plan of Shanghai, Fengxian New Town was planned to become a node city with distinctive industrial characteristics and unique ecological endowment in the coastal development corridor along the riverside in southern Shanghai.

4. Songjiang New Town:

Songjiang New Town is one of the five new towns under the overall planning of Shanghai, a comprehensive node city on the Shanghai-Hangzhou Corridor, and the political, educational, cultural and residential center of Songjiang in 2 1 century.

5. Jiading New Town:

Jiading New Town is one of the five new towns to be built in Shanghai during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period. We will focus on building the core area of Jiading New Town and the independent innovation industry bearing area of Science and Technology City, and take the lead in building three demonstration model areas: Yuanxiang Lake Central Activity Area, Jiabao Wisdom Bay Future Urban Practice Area and Ximen Historical and Cultural Block.
