In order to fully reflect the development results of large coal enterprises in 2013, further promote the development of large coal enterprises (groups) ) construction, transformation and upgrading to promote the smooth operation and sustained and healthy development of the coal industry. Based on the successful release of the top 100 Chinese coal companies for 11 consecutive years, the China Coal Industry Association will refer to internationally accepted standards and apply independently through the enterprise. After careful review, the company will The company's operating income in 2013 was the criteria for selection, and the top 100 Chinese coal companies in 2014 were ranked. Compared with the previous year, the shortlisted companies this time show six major characteristics:

First, the expansion of business scale has slowed down, and non-coal industries continue to expand. The total operating income of 100 enterprises was 4.16 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.03% over the previous year, and the growth rate dropped by 8.12 percentage points, reaching the lowest level in ten years. The number of companies with operating income exceeding 100 billion yuan reached 16, which was the same as the previous year. Some companies have maintained a stable growth momentum, and 54 companies have maintained year-on-year revenue growth. The 100 companies achieved non-coal revenue of 2.46 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.38% over the previous year, and the non-coal proportion reached 60%.

Second, as coal production increases, coal industry revenue and profits decline. The 100 enterprises produced 3.005 billion tons of coal, an increase of 156 million tons from the previous year. The growth rate dropped from the average annual growth rate of 13.72% since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" to 5.47%, the lowest level since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan". The proportion of coal production in the country reached more than 80% for the first time, at 81.66%. Among the 90 coal production enterprises, 55 enterprises increased their output year-on-year, with a cumulative increase of 228.92 million tons, an increase of 10.43%; 34 enterprises decreased their output year-on-year, with a cumulative reduction of 51.39 million tons, a decrease of 8.16%; and one enterprise's output remained unchanged year-on-year. The coal industry revenue of 100 enterprises was 1.6948 billion yuan. Although the output increased by 5.47% compared with the previous year, the revenue decreased by 1.21% compared with the previous year.

Third, profitability has declined significantly, and capital operating efficiency continues to decline. The total net profit of 100 companies reached 84.157 billion yuan, a significant decrease of 44.18% from the previous year. Among them, 21 companies suffered losses and 77 companies had a year-on-year net profit decrease; the average sales net profit rate was 2%, a decrease of 2% from the previous year. percentage points, among which, the net sales profit margin of 85 companies decreased year-on-year; the total assets, net assets, and liabilities reached 5.7 trillion yuan, 1.85 trillion yuan, and 3.85 trillion yuan respectively, an increase of 12.74%, 6.26%, and 16.13% respectively over the previous year. %. Affected by the rapid growth of liabilities, the total assets growth rate has been higher than the net asset growth rate for five consecutive years, and the quality of asset growth has continued to decline; the asset-liability ratio continued to rise, reaching 67.59%, an increase of 1.97% from the previous year. percentage points, which is 4.99 percentage points higher than that of coal enterprises above designated size nationwide, and corporate financial risks continue to increase.

Fourth, the total tax payment dropped for the first time, and the profit and tax contribution dropped sharply. The total tax paid by 100 enterprises was 294.483 billion yuan, a decrease of 38.259 billion yuan or 11.47% from the previous year, which was the first decline in 10 years; the total profit and tax was 378.641 billion yuan, a decrease of 104.763 billion yuan or 21.67% from the previous year; operating income profit The tax rate dropped to single digits for the first time, to 9.11%, a decrease of 3.69 percentage points from the previous year. Shenhua Group is the only company with a profit and tax of more than 100 billion yuan, with a profit and tax of 129.367 billion yuan, accounting for more than one-third of the total profits and taxes of 100 companies.

Fifth, the role of the top 10 entities has been further enhanced, with 11 companies appearing on the Fortune Global 500. The top 10 companies remain relatively stable. Shenhua Group continues to lead the list with revenue of 367.8 billion yuan, Shanxi Coking Coal Group ranks second with revenue of 236.1 billion yuan, and Jizhong Energy Group ranks third with revenue of 229.9 billion yuan.

The revenue, assets, output, and profits of the top 10 companies were 2.29 trillion yuan, 2.67 trillion yuan, 1.384 billion tons, and 92.6 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 55.18%, 46.83%, 46.06%, and 69.05% of the 100 companies, respectively. It increased by 2.13 percentage points, 3.29 percentage points, 0.74 percentage points and 18.88 percentage points compared with the previous year, and the main role was further enhanced. The top 10 companies, together with the 11th-ranked Kailuan Group, were shortlisted for the 2014 Fortune Global 500, ranking within 400. Among them, Shenhua Group ranked 165th, up 13 places from the previous year. Shanxi Coking Coal Group rose to 290th place from 403rd last year. The revenue and ranking of 11 companies all increased compared with the previous year, but the overall profit level showed a downward trend. 11 companies finally completed a net profit of 61.027 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 21.38%. Four companies suffered losses, and 10 companies saw profits decline to varying degrees.

Sixth, mergers and reorganizations continue to advance, and integrated growth has achieved remarkable results. 100 companies are actively carrying out shareholding reform through mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, listing financing, bond issuance and other methods. The diversification of equity and investment entities has been increasingly developed. The reform of the property rights system has gradually deepened, the corporate governance structure has gradually improved, and the degree of marketization of enterprises has steadily improved. ***25 companies implemented mergers, acquisitions and reorganization activities in 2013, a decrease from the previous year. 39 companies have 52 listed companies, and there are 27 listed coal companies. There are many mergers and reorganizations, such as the strategic reorganization of Henan Coal Chemical Group and Yima Coal Group to form Henan Energy Group, Shanxi Coking Coal Group to reorganize Shanxi Coke Group, Shanxi Coal Transportation and Marketing Group to merge and reorganize Shanxi International Electric Power Group to form Jinneng Co., Ltd., Shandong Energy groups acquired coal mines, oil shale mines and rubber plantations in Australia, Cambodia and other countries. The overall listing of Jingyuan Coal Group was successfully completed, and the largest fertilizer production enterprise in Gansu, Liuhua Group, was successfully reorganized.

In 2013, faced with the severe coal economic operating situation, coal enterprises persisted in seeking progress while maintaining stability, actively promoted the market-oriented reform of coal, accelerated the pace of structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading, and achieved remarkable results. At the same time, the development of coal enterprises still faces many difficulties and contradictions. The transformation of the economic development model is progressing slowly, and capital management efficiency is not high; profitability has declined sharply, and losses continue to increase; the structural surplus of coal has intensified, and the task of reducing overcapacity is arduous; There is insufficient motivation to drive innovation, and R&D investment lacks a long-term mechanism for stable growth; there is a lack of core competitiveness, and brand awareness is weak. These seriously restrict the development of enterprises.

The Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the healthy development of the coal industry. Recently, relevant national departments are intensifying efforts to alleviate difficulties in the coal industry, taking multiple measures to comprehensively promote the efforts to alleviate difficulties in the coal industry.
