About the Party Congress

A congress is held every five years, the most recent being the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

In the five years between the two congresses, at least one plenary session with the participation of Central Committee members was held every year. This year the Fourth Plenary Session was held, and last year the Second and Third Plenary Sessions were held (last year there were many things going on , policies and measures should be studied). The next time is the Fifth Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The 18th National Congress will be held in 2012.

Generally, 6-7 plenary sessions are held in five years. For example, the Eighth National Congress held 12 plenary sessions.
