Yuanqu County Agriculture and Rural Bureau successfully implemented the first proliferation and release of giant salamander in Lishan Scenic Area.

On June 5, 2020, Yuanqu Agriculture and Rural Bureau came to Lishan Scenic Area, the main giant salamander reserve, and under the guidance of the higher authorities, guided Shanxi Lishan Giant Salamander Breeding Co., Ltd. to successfully implement the proliferation and release of giant salamanders 1000, which was the first time that artificial breeding and seedling raising of giant salamanders in our province were released in the wild.

The proliferation and release of giant salamander was notarized by Yuanqu County Notary Office.

The giant salamander Lishan is the last habitat in the northernmost part of China, with the oldest, purest and best population resources. The local climate and water temperature are most suitable for the breeding of giant salamander. In 20 14, Lishan Giant Panda Breeding Base of Shanxi Lishan Giant Panda Breeding Co., Ltd. succeeded in breeding wild giant pandas for the first time by using local parents 1040, which achieved a historic breakthrough in artificial breeding of wild giant pandas in Shanxi Province, which was reported by provincial TV stations and Shanxi Daily. This technological breakthrough indicates that our province is becoming a big province for commercial breeding of giant pandas. At present, the base has more than 0/00 fish and 20,000 fry, which can provide more than 5,000 fry every year. In 2020, more than 500 kinds of fish cultured in the base will enter the breeding period, and the increment of fry culture will be greatly improved. The number of giant salamander fry released each year will increase to 10000.

The successful proliferation and release of giant salamander in Lishan will greatly increase the wild population of giant salamander reserve in Lishan, marking another breakthrough in the artificial breeding and protection of giant salamander in Lishan, making outstanding contributions to the protection of animal diversity in Lishan and providing valuable reference experience for the protection of other rare animals in Lishan.
