The National College Entrance Examination, referred to as the "College Entrance Examination", is a selective examination for qualified high school graduates or candidates with the same academic ability in Chinese mainland (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).

Ordinary colleges and universities, according to the scores of candidates, according to the established enrollment plan, comprehensively measure morality, intelligence and physical fitness, and select the best candidates. The college entrance examination is arranged by the Ministry of Education, and the examination questions are ordered by the examination center of the Ministry of Education or the provincial education examination institutes that implement independent propositions.
