Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan, and there are many reasons to prove it:

(1) There is a temple dedicated to Wu Zetian, "Huang Ze 'an", which is the only temple in China to commemorate Wu Zetian except Wenshui, the ancestral home of Wu. According to the book "Guangyuan County Records" written during the Qianlong period, "Wuhou was in charge and built Huangze Temple. So far, the name of the township has been ambiguous, or it has existed in front of the temple, so it was renamed Huang Ze. " Take the meaning of "the imperial grace is mighty, and the hometown is safe". According to the research of cultural relics workers, the temple existed in the late Northern Dynasty. Wu Zetian's parents once invested in opening a grotto statue in the temple, and later Wu Zetian became emperor. Because she was born in Sri Lanka, she was named "Huangze Temple" to commemorate the land of Longxing. There used to be statues of Tang Gaozong and Wu Zetian in the temple, but there was a "Stone Carving of Wu Zetian Rong Zhen", which was the front statue of Wu Zetian in his later years. It is not uncommon to build temples and shrines for outstanding figures in history in all parts of China. Most temples and shrines are built to commemorate their great achievements or the romantic deeds of celebrities, and there are memorial halls built because they were born in. No matter which year Wu Zetian was born, she lived in Guangyuan when she was a child. Of course, a child can't do earth-shattering things. The temples built in that area can only commemorate her birth.

(2) There is a place named Zetianba, named after Wu Zetian, which has existed since ancient times and has been mentioned in many literatures. A 30-stone carving of Maidi in Song Dynasty, engraved with "Bai Sha Li Ze Tian Ba", was unearthed.

(3) There is a folk activity "On the 23rd day of the first month, women go around You Jiang". Guangyuan folklore held a meeting of Wu Zetian on the 23rd day of the first month, which was the birthday anniversary. 1988, in order to carry out cultural and economic activities, Guangyuan government designated September 1 day every year as "Guangyuan Daughter's Day" to commemorate the birth of Wu Zetian.

(4) Wu Zetian's father, Wu Shihuo, once served as "Lizhou Secretariat" in Guangyuan. In the first year of Chang 'an (70 1), Wu Zetian erected a monument to the filial piety of Emperor Zhou in front of Wenshui Mausoleum. This monument is called "Climbing Dragon Terrace Monument" in history, and it clearly records "Governor of Baili Prefecture in the first year of Zhenguan".

(5) There is a legend that his mother Yang Huai was born in Lizhou River Beach, and a large number of folk stories that Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan. The story of "feeling pregnant on the beach" spread very early and widely. It is said that Yang Guifei went boating on the beach of Lizhou River in early spring, sleeping on her pillow, dreaming that the black dragon jumped out of the pool to have sex with him, and later gave birth to Wu Zetian.

(6) Li Shangyin, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty, wrote a poem called "Jiangtan Zuo in Lizhou" when he was in Lizhou. Li Shangyin wrote many famous poems, but the content of this poem is obscure and of little aesthetic value, but Li Shangyin himself named "Jiangtan" as "the golden wheel of pregnancy". Wu Zetian's self-proclaimed "Golden Wheel Emperor" shows that many people in the late Tang Dynasty knew the legend of "Jiang Tan's feelings".

(7) The fact that Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan has been recorded in a large number of official documents of past dynasties. "Records of Nine Domains" (Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty) said: "Wu Shihuo was the prefect of Lizhou, and he lived in his place after his birth, and Huang Zean had Zhenwu Hall."

(8) Unearthed cultural relics have the inscription "Zheng Guang Monument".

(9) The authoritative appraisal made by Guo Moruo's archaeological research achievement "The Basis of Wu Zetian's Birth in Guangyuan". Lao Guo also came to the conclusion that "Wu Zetian was born in the seventh year of Tang Wude (624)".

These are enough to prove that Wu Zetian was born in Guangyuan.
