The park is divided into "dinosaur site research and sightseeing area" and "Jurassic World" tourist area.

From 1938 to now, Lufeng has unearthed more than 120 individual dinosaur fossils, spanning the early, middle and late Jurassic periods. Chinese and foreign experts believe that Lufeng is one of the richest, most complete, oldest and most primitive areas in the world, and it is the hometown of dinosaurs in China. In 2004, Lufeng was announced as the third batch of national geological parks.
