Message to Cui is a seven-character poem written by Li Bai, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, when he was in Jinling (now Nanjing, Jiangsu) in the autumn of the twelfth year of Tianbao (753). In this poem, the poet interweaves the feeling of life experience with the expression of friendship. In the first half, the poet left his hometown and walked alone. Foshan was called the hometown of Ji Hua in ancient times.

In the second year of Long 'an in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 398), Dapiyeshe, a monk of Shibin State (now Kashmir), came to Jihua Township with two bronze statues to build a Buddhist temple on Tapogang (now Tapo Street) and preach Buddhism. After he returned to China, as time went by, the temple collapsed.

In the Tang Dynasty, it became a hill. One day in the second year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (AD 628), Tapogang was resplendent and the villagers rushed to tell each other.

So people got together, dug on Tapogang and dug up three bronze buddhas. When the Buddha statue was removed, a clear spring gushed out. According to the inscription, in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, there was a Buddhist monk, Da Piyeshe, who once lectured and built a sutra hall here.

The villagers then dug wells for water and rebuilt Tapo Temple on the pillars to worship three bronze buddhas. People thought it was a mountain of Buddhism, so they renamed Ji Hua Township "Foshan".
