The scenic spot built on the top of the mountain, once a bandit's den, is now a red attraction and summer resort.

There are many summer resorts in the deep mountains of western Henan. The Baodu Village Scenic Area at the junction of Luanchuan and Lushi is built on the top of the mountain. The bandits' den in the past has now become a red tourist attraction and a summer resort, attracting more and more tourists to come here to review the red classics, relax in the summer, and enjoy the mountains and rivers.

Starting from Luanchuan County, follow National Highway 311 westward to Dahong Village, Sanchuan Town. There is a cliff statue on the right side of the road. Several PLA officers and soldiers look into the distance with their eyes like torches. As far as the eye can see is the Baodu Village Scenic Area. On the left is the stone gatehouse. The water behind the gatehouse is a lake called Baolong Bay. It is the waterfront landscape and water park of Baodu Village Scenic Area.

Turn left in the direction of the scenic area to Hongshen Temple Village to truly enter the scenic area. Huoshen Temple Village is the Red Revolution Education Base of Baodu Village Scenic Area. The main visit includes the headquarters of the liberation of Baodu Village, the Liberation Monument, the exhibition hall, and the swearing-in platform scenic spots. It is a place to review revolutionary history, receive red education, and remember revolutionary martyrs.

From Huoshen Temple Village to the right, there is a road leading directly to the north gate of Baodu Village on the top of the mountain, and then to the Lu family. Enter the ditch to the left and pass through the Shifang Courtyard to the east gate of Baodu Village. Entering the ditch is a unique and iconic red scenic spot gate.

The east gate of Baodu Village Scenic Area is a long, narrow and steep ravine, which is easy to defend and difficult to attack, while the north gate and west gate are steep cliffs that are unreachable. Back then, the People's Liberation Army made three attacks on Baodu Village and made huge sacrifices. Because the terrain of Baodu Village was too steep, it caused great difficulties in attacking Baodu Village. The first two times, they had to give up the strong attack. The third time, they adopted the tactic of "Surrounding Three Ques and One" and besieged Baodu Village for 33 days and nights, forcing the bandits to abandon the village and escape. They annihilated the bandits outside the village and truly liberated Baodu Village. In the three attacks on Baodu Village, the People's Liberation Army and local armed forces suffered more than 500 casualties, which shows how difficult the attack was.

The narrow passage leading to Dongzhaimen once had a wooden plank road. Later, a new hiking trail was built, and the plank road was gradually abandoned. Whether it is a plank road or a trail, tourists on foot can appreciate its steepness. It is understandable how difficult it is for the People's Liberation Army soldiers who braved the hail of bullets to storm the gate of the village.

Entering the Dongzhai Gate is the core scenic spot of Baodu Village. Baodu Village got its name from the mythical story of a calf and a shepherd boy who ate fairy grass and became immortals. Later, in order to avoid the war, the villagers continued to operate and develop the village into a village. However, it was seized by bandits and caused chaos. What has been restored in the village are all scenes from the time when the bandits were entrenched.

The main attractions in Baodu Village are the "Four Gates, Three Houses and One Street", that is, the four gates of the village in the east, west, south and north. There are three "village owners" houses that once occupied the village and a fully functional street. "Sky Street".

Except for the four village gates in the east, west, south and north, the houses in the village are all built on the mountain, facing north to south, which is a typical residential style in the mountainous areas of western Henan. In Tianjie, there are various shops, restaurants, inns, taverns, medicine shops, pawn shops, etc. to meet the needs of the village. There are also casinos, escort agencies, spring buildings, martial arts training grounds and other places, with a total length of more than 400 meters.

Tianjie also has a variety of traditional snacks with local characteristics in western Henan, such as corn flour "tadpoles", acorn jelly, steamed buns, Sanchuan tofu, hand-rolled noodles, etc., which are very popular among tourists.

There are many places and attractions with obvious bandit characteristics in the village, such as the training ground, Green Forest Cave, meeting hall, water prison, etc. The bandits arbitrarily detained and killed revolutionary soldiers and civilians and poor people in the stronghold, which became a bandit nest that must be eradicated.

What is different from the humanistic bandit culture inside Baodu Village is Wangniuling, which is located to the north of the village. This is the original ecological scenery included in Baodu Village Scenic Area.

On Wangniuling, there are not only tall and dense pines and cypresses, but also unique geological wonders such as the One-line Sky, Thousand Layer Rocks, Immortal Bridge, Tmall Stone, Niujiao Stone, Tianzhu Peak and other natural wonders, all of which are ingenious. , lifelike. At the same time, there are also scenic spots that integrate ancient and modern cultural landscapes such as Fuyue Tower, Baodu Temple, Feast of the Eight Immortals, and Xiangyinfang.

Baodu Village and Wangniuling are above 1,800 meters above sea level, with high forest coverage and very cool summers. Whether you are wandering in Baoduzhai Tianjie or strolling along Wangniuling Ridge, it is like entering a forest oxygen bar. You feel refreshed, energetic and physically refreshed. It can be called a summer resort on the top of the mountain.

Standing on Wangniuling, overlooking Baodu Village, it is more intuitive and clear to observe its dangers and magic.

Baodu Village is in the shape of a dustpan, lying flatly on the top of the mountain, surrounded by cliffs. Only a narrow and slender mountain pass in the east leads to the bottom of the mountain. Its steepness is comparable to that of "Huashan Mountain" road". Especially the north gate, south gate and west gate are dazzling cliffs.

Despite the heavy gunfire on the wall of the village, there was still singing and dancing in the village. Now after development, a winding mountain road has been built from the Fire Temple at the foot of the mountain, bypassing the ancient village and going straight to the north gate. The north gate leads to Lushi County, and there is a road connecting it at Pipiling Yahuo.

Therefore, when visiting Baodu Village Scenic Area, you can also follow National Highway 344 directly to the north gate of Pipi Ridge. Enter the scenic spot from the north gate, first visit Wangniuling, and then visit Baodu Village from top to bottom.
