What is a hacker?

Hacker (English: hacker, or hacker) refers to a person who has a high understanding of computer science, programming and design.

The word hacker has several different meanings:

1. In the Information security industry, "hacker" refers to the person who studies the computer security system. This includes black hat hackers (English: Black Hat, also known as cracker) who use public communication networks, such as the Internet and telephone systems, to load the other party's systems without permission, and white hat hackers (English: White Hat) who debug and analyze computer security systems. It was first used to refer to people who studied the theft of telephone systems.

2. In terms of amateur computers, "hackers" refer to amateurs who study and modify computer products. In 197s, many of these communities focused on hardware research. In 198s and 199s, many communities focused on software changes (such as writing game modules and overcoming software copyright restrictions).

3. According to RFC 1392, "hacker" is "a person who is keen to study the secrets of the internal operation of systems and computers (especially computer networks)". According to this tolerant definition, hackers can also include many computer and Internet technology creators.

Some people say that the concepts of Hacker and cracker should be clearly distinguished.

The Chinese transliteration of "black" or "scary" in "hacker" and "hacker" always makes people misunderstand hackers. Real hackers mainly refer to senior programmers, such as linus torvalds, the founder of Linux, rather than people who are misunderstood to maliciously attack and destroy computer systems and programs. In addition to being proficient in programming and operating systems such as Unix, people who are proficient in network intrusion can be regarded as hackers, but they are generally called hackers, and engineers who innovate hardware devices are usually regarded as hackers.

The word "hacker" generally has the following meanings: a person who maliciously (usually illegally) tries to crack or destroy a program, system and network security.

But in fact, the original commendatory meaning of "hacker" has long been diluted or completely lost, generally referring to illegal intruders.
