What are the textile types of pure cotton fabrics?

Cotton fabric generally refers to a kind of fabric containing cotton or high cotton content, because there are many ways to classify cotton, such as knitting and weaving. According to interviews with Qixing textile professionals, we know the following common cotton fabrics.

Cotton fabrics are divided into two styles: white fabrics and colored fabrics. According to these two types of works, they are classified as follows:

(1) White fabric: plain cloth, poplin, beery, gabardine, khaki, vertical and horizontal tribute, official yarn and flannel.

(2) Colored fabrics: tweed, 26 yuan tribute, flannel, plaid cloth, bed linen, poplin and worsted, seersucker, corduroy, velveteen, denim, leno, jacquard, medium and long tweed, etc.

Because there are many kinds, not every one is widely used in life, so here are some of the most commonly used functions in the market.

Plain cloth: This is a kind of fabric woven by plain weave. Most of the raw materials are cotton yarns, and the linear density of the warp and weft yarns is the same as or similar to that of the warp and weft yarns in the fabric. According to the weight per unit area, plain cloth can be divided into three types: thin, medium and thick.

The usual specifications are C 32X32 and 68X68.

Poplin: Plain weave fabric is called poplin. Compared with plain weave, the ratio of warp and weft density is generally 1.8 ~ 2.2: 1. Most of them use pure cotton and polyester cotton as textile raw materials. Poplin fabric is characterized by clean and flat surface, fine texture, full grain, bright and soft luster and soft and smooth feel. According to the spinning process, poplin can be divided into three types: semi-carding, carding and combing. Poplin is a main variety of cotton cloth, which is mainly used for shirts, summer clothes and daily clothes.

The usual specifications are: C 40X40, 133X72.

Worsted: Worsted cotton yarn is generally combed, which is also plain weave. This kind of fabric has strong hygroscopicity and breathability, and the material feels soft. It is widely used in the production of summer T-shirts, shirts and dresses.

It is usually made of 6 tex-10 tex (100-60 inch count) combed cotton yarn.

Maier yarn: mainly obtained by mercerizing and singeing. The fabric has light texture, fine pores and good air permeability. This fabric will be used to make clothing accessories, summer shirts and dresses.

It is usually made of carded cotton yarn with warp and weft yarns of 10 tex-14.5 tex (60-40 inches count).

Oxford: Oxford cloth, as we often say, is a fabric made of very fine cotton yarn. Oxford cloth is more used to produce shirts, bags and so on.

It is usually made of fine cotton yarn (13-29tex) as warp and weft.

Transverse satin: This kind of fabric will use pure cotton combed cotton yarn as weft, and its structure is relatively compact, which has the characteristics of satin.

Satin fabric with dense weft (14.5 tex) usually consists of five layers of satin weave.

Yarn-dyed striped plaid cloth: This kind of cloth is made of dyed cotton yarn, and its surface will have a plaid pattern.

Hemp yarn: woven in plain weave, with constantly changing ends. Thick and thin lines can be clearly seen on the surface of the fabric, which is called hemp yarn because of its similar appearance to hemp fabric.

It is usually made of cotton yarn with medium fineness (18-36 tex) as warp and weft.

Corduroy: Also known as corduroy, it refers to a fabric made by interweaving warp yarns of a single system with weft yarns of a double system (ground weft and velvet weft) into a velvet embryo, and then brush pile weft yarns. Because of the pick-up method, the velvet strips on the surface are like corduroy strips, so they are called corduroy. This kind of fabric has plump tops, thick texture, wear resistance and good warmth retention. Mainly used for men's and women's clothing, skirts, jeans, children's wear, shoes and hats in spring, autumn and winter.

Velveteen: The weaving process of velveteen is complicated, and its warp and weft are made of cotton yarn. Due to the high processing cost, the price of this fabric will be higher. Mainly used as fabrics for women's work clothes, shoes and hats in spring, autumn and winter.
