Introduction to Quanzhou Luoyang Bridge Is Quanzhou Luoyang Bridge fun?
Hearing this name, you will think that this bridge is located in Luoyang. Actually, it's far from Fujian.
It is called Luoyang Bridge because in the Jin Dynasty, it was crowned to the south, and countless gentry from the Central Plains came to Quanzhou to escape the war. Seeing beautiful mountains and rivers, lush vegetation and quite a Luoyang style, it was named Luoyang, and Houshiqiao was also called Luoyang Bridge.
I know Luoyang very well, so I took a look around here and found it is very similar to Luoyang Luohe. The open rivers and dense vegetation really make me homesick.
Luoyang Bridge was built at 1053. At that time, Quanzhou's overseas business gradually rose, its economic strength improved, and people's requirements for transportation became higher and higher. Before Luoyang Bridge, people used to cross the river by boat. The waves were very dangerous and fell into the river with a little carelessness.
At that time, Quanzhou secretariat Cai Xiang was determined to build a bridge. However, it took six years before and after the bridge was built, because it was long and difficult.
The completed Luoyang Bridge has a total length of 1200m and a width of over 5m, with 46 piers. The bridge is dotted with 7 pavilions and 9 towers for pedestrians to rest. This bridge is also the first large-scale cross-sea stone bridge in China.
Luoyang Bridge is one of the four famous bridges in ancient China. He is an old-timer of Qiao Chang, known as "North Zhaozhou, South Luoyang".
The construction of this bridge is extremely difficult. After listening to the advice of many craftsmen, Cai Xiang finally adopted two methods: raft foundation and oyster culture.
Raft foundation is to make piers into rafts to resist the impact of water flow. At that time, there were more than 300 stones on the bridge, each stone was 12 meters long and weighed 8 tons, which could not be completed by manpower, so it was transported between piers by raft and placed after the tide receded, saving a lot of manpower.
Growing oyster foundation is definitely a genius invention, because the stone is rough and the gap is big or small, which is difficult to handle. Over time, it will become a hidden danger, so Cai Xiang came up with a way to fill them with oysters.
Oysters are common soft shells on the coast. Its shell can be attached to rocks or other oyster shells, and its reproductive ability is extremely strong. Using these two principles, Cai Xiang led oysters to the rocks and let them reproduce themselves to fill the gaps in the rocks.
This method was later called biological solid foundation, and Luoyang Bridge became the first precedent in the world to apply biology to bridge construction.
How much effect does this method have on bridge repair? I'm not an architect, I'm not sure, but according to the literature, Luoyang Bridge has been overhauled three times and slightly repaired 16 times in the past 900 years. Can't say that there is no contribution from oysters.
At first glance, Luoyang Bridge is much more spectacular than I expected. The white bridge body spread far away, the blue waves rippled under the bridge, and the vegetation on the shore was clear, quiet and peaceful.
Sure enough, there are no tourists here, only electric cars coming and going. In order to protect the bridge, cars are not allowed to pass. There are two stone pagodas in classical architectural style at the bridge head. This pagoda is engraved with the relief of the Buddha statue. It seems that they have existed for a long time. Shishi stood on the bridge and looked into the distance uniformly.
The stones at the foot are distributed in columns, and five stone heads are put together to form the width of the bridge. Looking down, there are rows of boat-shaped stone piers. The stone pier is still black. Carefully at the junction with the water, there are many oysters, which are attached to the dock and arranged closely.
Shiqiao Oyster and Shiqiao Oyster have been interdependent and supported each other for thousands of years, which has become a much-told story.
All the way to the center of the bridge, there is a granite pavilion with the words "Xichuan Ganyu" written in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty.
This inscription comes from a legend. During the Ming Dynasty, Quanzhou suffered from drought. In the test
Changhong people struggle to cross the river, and the four continents of Minhai become a thoroughfare.
The establishment of Luoyang Bridge solved the traffic on both sides of the river, and also made the commercial trade more prosperous. Even if the ancient bridge is no longer effective, it is still the "first bridge in the world" in Quanzhou people's minds.
