What is the theme of this summit? What does innovation mean?

The theme of this summit, namely the G20 Summit held in Hangzhou, China on September 4 -5, 2006, is to build an innovative, dynamic, coordinated and inclusive world economy.

Innovation now refers to the innovation-driven development strategy. The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that "scientific and technological innovation is the strategic support to improve social productivity and comprehensive national strength, and must be placed at the core of the overall development of the country." It is emphasized that we should stick to the road of independent innovation with China characteristics and implement the innovation-driven development strategy.

G20 Summit is an international economic cooperation forum, which was established in February 1999 16 in Berlin, Germany. It belongs to the informal dialogue mechanism within the framework of the Bretton Woods system, and consists of the former G8 and other 12 important economies. The G20 Financial Summit aims to promote open and constructive discussions and research on substantive issues between industrialized developed countries and emerging market countries, so as to seek cooperation and promote international financial stability and sustained economic growth.
