Where is Houping Village?

Houping Village is located in the east of Da Nanshan, bordering Huilai County in the southeast, Shapi Village and Leiling Town in the west, Qianshan Village in the northeast and Dalongxi Reservoir in the north. The mountainous area is 5500 mu, and the population is1878,265 households. This is a mountain village and an old revolutionary base area village during World War II. Agriculture in this village mainly grows rice, potatoes and beans, and stone processing is the main industry and sideline.

Houping Chuangcun was founded in the fifth year of Yuan Dade (130 1), and it was named Houping because there was a wide flat land behind the village.

In the past three years, with the help of poverty alleviation and development working groups at all levels and the "100 million" working group, two-story office buildings with an area of 1.3 square meters and a construction area of 270 square meters have been built in the village, paving the village roads, dismantling the old toilet pools, and paving cement roads in each village. , to some extent, changed the face of the village.

There are many skilled craftsmen in this village, and the mountainous area is rich in oilseed stone. The mortar made of this kind of stone is green in color and diverse in shape. Its mortar body, mortar ears and feet are carved with patterns, and the outer wall is smooth and exquisite. It is a convenient tool for grinding Chinese herbal medicines and mashing food condiments. In the past, it was exported to Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macao, and 1984 was sent to the Canton Fair for exhibition, which was deeply loved by users at home and abroad. It is a traditional export handicraft and a specialty of Narita.

Weng Qian, a revolutionary martyr and famous stonemason, is from our village. Weng Qian carved a plow card of the peasant association in Sanshui, and there was a stone next to it, which read "Revolutionary cultural relics, pay attention to preservation, management committee of Narita commune in Chaoyang county".

There are many tourist attractions near Houping Village, such as Dongshanhu Hot Spring Resort, Shen Xi Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Narita Qixing Temple, Wugui Temple, and the Red Army revolutionary slogan of Dananshan. There are pancakes with sugar onion, fish in casserole, fried boiled fish, braised sea cucumber, braised Mingpi and other specialties.
