In September 2009, the risk elimination and reinforcement project started with a total investment of 128 million yuan, including: main dam, Zhabei auxiliary dam, east auxiliary dam, Xingfu Canal auxiliary dam, east water discharge tunnel, and west water discharge tunnel Risk removal and reinforcement, spill gate demolition and reconstruction, and management unit construction, etc. After the completion of the dam reinforcement project, the urban water supply can be increased by 7.55 million cubic meters. Considering the water diversion from the Yellow River in Jiaodong, the water supply can be increased by 43.21 million cubic meters. In accordance with the national requirement of "eliminating hidden dangers in large and medium-sized reservoirs within three years," the Fushan District Water Conservancy Bureau applied for risk elimination and reinforcement plans several times, and was finally approved by the state as the third batch of national central government investment and construction projects to expand domestic demand.
