How to further improve the level of agricultural mechanization in hilly and mountainous areas of Sichuan Province

1, mechanical transformation should be carried out in hilly and mountainous areas. Hilly areas account for 50%. Due to inconvenient transportation, many areas belong to poverty-stricken areas, and hilly areas are the key areas for poverty alleviation. Small and scattered plots are not suitable for agricultural mechanization. There are many local double-high base construction projects, such as the construction of sugarcane double-high base in Guangxi, aiming at leveling the land, achieving the conditions of mechanized operation, and mechanically transforming the land in hills and mountainous areas. In this way, small plots are concentrated and mechanization is convenient.

2. Agricultural machinery and agronomy integration. After all, mechanized transformation in hilly and mountainous areas is not the mainstream. We can't move most of the land in the hilly and mountainous areas, and we have no conditions and lack of funds. At this time, the integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy is needed. More small micro-machinery suitable for farming and harvesting in hilly and mountainous areas should be popularized, such as micro tillers, small tractors with small radius, orchard plant protection machines with suitable width, drones and so on. Increasing R&D and subsidies for these products can effectively make up for the problem of low mechanical rate caused by insufficient land conditions.

3. Promote the development of characteristic agricultural machinery and tools in hilly and mountainous areas. Planting rice and corn in hilly and mountainous areas is definitely not as effective as that in plain areas, which is not only inefficient, but also low in yield and even not marketable. More characteristic agriculture can be developed in hilly and mountainous areas, such as miscellaneous crops and characteristic forest and fruit industries. With the support and protection of local characteristic agriculture and the increase and liberalization of foreign agricultural machinery subsidies, more characteristic agricultural machinery will appear in hilly and mountainous areas.
