New China's first sports magazine

On June 10, 1952, Mao Zedong inscribed 12 characters for the sports work of New China: "Develop sports and enhance people's physique." This inscription was written by Mao Zedong for the founding meeting of the All-China Sports Federation. "New Sports", the only sports publication at that time, published Chairman Mao's inscription on a full page and highlighted the important idea of ??"developing sports and enhancing people's physical fitness" to serve production and national defense construction. This inscription reflects the Communist Party’s highest purpose of serving the people and seeking benefits for the people, clarifies the fundamental purpose and development direction of sports in New China, and promotes the development of sports in our country.
