As the saying goes, if a name is not regular, it will not work. Therefore, improving the name of Hanfu is only a transition. China must have its own mainstream modern national costume, and this mainstream China costume will only have one main name, that is, Chinese clothes.

With the development of China's economy and the improvement of national self-confidence, Hanfu, like Japanese kimono, appears more and more in various parties and ceremonial occasions. Hanfu will get a good inheritance, which can be seen from the rising Hanfu fever in various places. The biggest problem in China at present is not the inheritance of traditional costumes.

It is a problem that does not exist in modern national costumes in China. This has seriously affected the cohesion and influence of the Chinese nation. Many people are aware of this problem and have made unremitting efforts to solve it, including me. So answering this question also includes my years of research.

"The beauty of clothes is the flower, and the ceremony is the summer". Therefore, in ancient times, even in ancient times when productivity was underdeveloped, China people's clothing was obviously exquisite and gorgeous compared with other countries. Moreover, the maturity of ancient Chinese clothing entered very early. Therefore, it is generally recognized that "Hua" may become the abbreviation and pronoun of China.

Historically, the status of "dressing up" has always been one of the main reasons for the Chinese nation to produce national identity, national consciousness and national self-confidence. This self-confidence makes it extremely difficult to be assimilated, so only by giving up the inherent clothing system of the Han nationality can it be assimilated. Until modern times, the Qing government adopted an unprecedented policy of "cutting hair and changing clothes", which ended the almost stubborn Hanfu complex of China people with the Han nationality as the main body. This is of course sad, because the splendid Hanfu culture is "out of date".

In the early days when Manchu entered the Central Plains, the policy was basically appeasement to learn from and adapt to the culture and people's feelings in the Central Plains. Only "cutting hair and changing clothes" is the main compulsory policy, which is embodied in the following aspects: culturally, it fully adapts to the Han Dynasty; On the other hand, in terms of clothing, it is necessary to adapt the advanced clothing system to the relatively backward clothing system, with the aim of eliminating the national consciousness and self-confidence of this main nation based on excellent clothing culture, so as to facilitate long-term rule.

This compulsory clothing policy has triggered a bitter struggle, which shows that people can't give up the splendid clothing culture that has lasted for thousands of years. In the recent 300 years, we were worried that China's clothing culture would disappear and sink, but today, we find that we worry too much. Hanfu has become extremely hot again, and the styles and crafts of various dynasties have been excavated, so the research and arrangement of traditional costumes has become a natural problem.

However, modern Chinese clothing has become a big problem. Because of the modern industrial revolution and other reasons, the materials, techniques and even structures of traditional costumes are out of date. How to keep the characteristics of traditional costumes as much as possible, and make them adapt to modern life, so as to establish a modern clothing system in China, which is a major issue we are facing now.

Today, there are still many people who hold the concept of "the laws of ancestors cannot be changed, and the clothes of ancestors cannot be changed", but this attitude is harmful to the revival of China's clothing culture. It is true that as an individual, everyone in China has the right to lie in the glory of the past and not change, but if the whole society thinks so, our country and nation will miss the opportunity to occupy the commanding heights of civilization again.

The wheel of history is rolling forward, and all ethnic groups of the Chinese nation have formed a whole. It is no longer her right-hand man who competes with her, but the whole foreign civilization with the mainland and the sea as the unit. A civilized nation that can retain and strengthen its own advantages of civilization and absorb foreign advantages without obstacles is great.

On the one hand, we can't stick to small interests such as stand-up collar and buckle, on the other hand, we can't regard modern dress elements and dress language as taboos. From the development of agricultural society to industrial society, and then to the future society, some clothing styles have the same development trend, such as more convenient, simpler and more practical. If our industrial level and technological level are one step ahead of other countries, it will probably develop like this.

Therefore, modern and even future styles are not something we should avoid when discussing the contemporary China clothing system. It is necessary to grasp and develop the core structural advantages of national costumes and break all obstacles in specific styles, colors and other elements. It is ridiculous and sad to solidify China's 5,000-year-old unparalleled rich and splendid Hanfu system into a stand-up collar and buttons, and reduce a huge system to a monotonous niche category, and at the same time lead to the Hanfu system becoming a dispensable supporting role and vassal of the human clothing system.
