The Hong Kong College of the College

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is the only university in Hong Kong that implements the parallel college system. College is responsible for "disciplinary" teaching, college is responsible for "student-oriented" teaching, and general education is mostly undertaken by college. The Chinese University of Hong Kong consists of New Asia College (established in 1949), Chung Chi College (established in 195 1) and United College (established in 1956), and Shaw College was established in 1986. Full-time undergraduates of The Chinese University of Hong Kong are affiliated to New Asia, United, Chung Chi and Shaw College respectively. Each college has its own different style. Chongji College attaches importance to Christian culture, while Xinya College attaches importance to literature, history, philosophy and China culture.
