Hydrology of Xiangtang Town

The main rivers in Xiangtang Town (Development Zone) are Tangshu Port, Main Canal and Lianxi River.

The Ganfu Plain Irrigation Main Canal runs through the central part of the region and is the main source of agricultural water in the region. The maximum design flow of canal water is 50.6m/s, the minimum flow is 2~3m3/s, and the maximum The water level is 23.13m, and the lowest water level (yellow sea elevation) is 20.13m. In the winter every 3 to 5 years, the main canal is inspected in sections, and the water needs to be drained and stopped for more than 2 months. At this time, all the water from Fuhe River to the main canal flows from Gangqian The dam discharges into Tangshu Port.

Tangshu Port is located on the east side of Xiangtang Town (Development Zone). It belongs to the Fuhe River system, flowing from south to north, and finally discharges into Poyang Lake. According to information provided by the Nanchang County Water Conservancy Bureau, the highest water level in Tangshu Port (Xiangtang) is 22.63m (Yellow Sea elevation, 1982 flood diversion record), the relative flow rate is 1100m3/s, and the lowest water level is 16.87m. In the dry season, the river width is 30-40m, the water depth is about 1.5m, the flow speed is 0.45m/s, and the hydraulic gradient is 1‰. Tangshu Port mainly receives rainwater, industrial wastewater, domestic sewage from Xiangtang Town, and farmland drainage. The main water body functions are sewage discharge, flood discharge, drainage, agricultural irrigation, etc. The environmental function is classified as surface water type III.

There is a river, Lianxi River, within the planning scope of the development zone. The Lianxi River often dies during the dry season. There are many ponds dotted within the planned area.
