Looking for pictures and information on the "Safety Culture" handwritten newspaper
Whether in a bustling city or on a highway extending in all directions, Chinese tourists arriving here for the first time will find that they can’t see a traffic policeman when traveling all over Finland, let alone There are warning slogans like "Better stop for 3 points than rush for 1 second." However, the traffic flow on the highway is orderly; the traffic in the downtown area is busy but not chaotic, and smooth; all kinds of motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians consciously go their own way. Especially at intersections, pedestrians will wait patiently until the light turns green before crossing the road. Even children are so disciplined. The high literacy and social ethics of Finnish citizens are not only related to their higher education, but also due to the nationwide "starting from childhood" children's traffic safety education work carried out by the Finnish Traffic Safety Education Association. The Finnish Traffic Safety Education Association was established in 1992. Its main work is to provide preventive traffic safety education to Finnish children, enhance children's awareness of traffic safety, and help children who have suffered traffic accidents recover as soon as possible. In order to carry out this work effectively, the association publishes and distributes various materials and teaching materials on traffic safety education. The most important teaching material is the "Children's Traffic Safety Guide" written for children aged 4 to 12 years old and accompanied by a CD. This hundreds-of-page textbook was compiled with the participation of professionals. It mainly teaches children the most basic traffic safety knowledge, involving children's safety issues on land, water and public transportation. For example, how to recognize various traffic signs; wear a helmet when riding a bicycle, use bicycle lanes; wear a life jacket when riding a yacht on the water, etc. Currently, this set of teaching materials has been widely used in lower grades and kindergartens in basic schools across Finland. Developing traffic safety teaching materials for children is not an easy task. In order to avoid boring propaganda content and vividly describe traffic rules to children, the association hired a teacher who is engaged in traffic safety education and is proficient in painting to draw more than 90 illustrations to match the teaching material. The illustrations are simple, vivid and clear at a glance, with a sense of Finnish humour. When teaching children about traffic safety, the teacher shows the pictures to the children and explains based on the content on the pictures. Many illustrations also compare the pros and cons of the same content, telling the children which behavior is wrong and which behavior is correct, leaving a deep impression on the children and getting twice the result with half the effort.
