The worldwide spread of drugs has become a serious threat to the international people. Drugs not only seriously damage human health, endanger national quality, encourage violent crimes, but also devour huge social wealth. For developing countries, the losses caused by drugs and the huge amount of money needed to eradicate drugs are a heavy burden.

1987 In June, the United Nations Ministerial Conference on International Drug Control was held in Vienna, Austria. More than 3000 representatives from 138 countries attended the meeting. The meeting adopted the Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Outline of Drug Control Activities.

In February of the same year, the 42nd UN General Assembly passed a resolution, and decided to designate June 26th every year as "International Anti-Drug Day". ?
