My "War against the Epidemic" (2): Returning to Chongqing, we were afraid of not being able to enter the city

The epidemic situation in Yunnan is much easier than that in Chongqing. Honghe Prefecture, where Kaiyuan is located, had only two cases when I arrived, and no cases were found in Kaiyuan. We could have chosen to stay in Kaiyuan to avoid the epidemic.

But there are some responsibilities that must be fulfilled.

On February 1, after a few days of "self-isolation" at our home in Kaiyuan, we decided to return to Chongqing.

During the previous 600 kilometers of driving, my Song Max felt very powerful. When the fuel consumption was the lowest, the average fuel consumption was 4.7 liters/100 kilometers. After the third row is folded down, a lot of things can be stored. After setting off from Kaiyuan, after putting the luggage of our family of three in it, as well as a lot of vegetables, it still seemed very empty. I set the second row to the maximum slope so that my wife and children can get the best rest on the road.

At 8 a.m., we set off on time. This trip will pass through Guangkun Expressway and Hangrui Expressway and then transfer to Xiamen-Chongqing Expressway and Chengdu-Chongqing Ring Expressway. The total journey is 968 kilometers and is expected to take 12 hours and 17 minutes. If normal, we can arrive in Chongqing after 19:00. But my wife thinks it would be great to get home at 22:00 after checking along the way.

It was still raining at the entrance and there was no inspection on the expressway. Staff wearing masks sat at the toll booth, watching the sparse traffic.

There is fog when you get on the highway. My wife said that there is rarely such fog when driving far away. It seems that the road ahead is still long. It wasn't until we passed the Bamboo Garden and the sun came out that the fog gradually receded. After driving for more than an hour and arriving at the Stone Forest, there was almost no fog at all. After taking a short rest in the service area, we continued to set off in the direction of Xuanwei and Guizhou. There are fewer cars on the road than on the fourth day of the lunar new year.

The scenery along the way was pretty good. Listening to the songs, the family temporarily forgot about the worries of the epidemic. Only the occasional anti-epidemic slogans passing by remind us that these are extraordinary times.

As we get closer to Guizhou, we feel that the altitude is getting higher and higher, and the temperature is also dropping a bit. After passing the Lalong Tunnel, you can see the Beipanjiang Bridge from a distance. The towering bridge pillars and magnificent cable stays look even more majestic among the majestic mountains. The bridge is said to have a vertical height of 565 meters, equivalent to the height of a 200-story building. It is known as the world's tallest bridge. It was completed in 2016 and won the world award in 2018: Gustav Lindenthal at the 35th International Bridge Conference. ) Gold Medal. It really lives up to its reputation.

This bridge is also the junction between Yunnan and Guizhou. After crossing the bridge, you will reach Guizhou. Originally looking at the navigation, there was a blocking point here, which was obviously a checkpoint. But when we passed, there were no lines of vehicles and the checkpoint was empty. Instead, we were a little disappointed.

Going a little further, after passing the Sanjiazhai Tunnel, we entered the service area and encountered inspection. But just as we were queuing up to be inspected, the staff took away the conical bucket and motioned us to move on. There was a vehicle with a Qiong license plate in front that was inspected. We judged that maybe because we were vehicles with Chongqing license plates, Guizhou judged that we were just transiting and let us leave.

But at this time we were a little worried that we would not be able to enter Chongqing normally.

When Guizhou entered Luzhou, Sichuan, our worries were slightly less. We encountered no inspection here, but there was a long queue in the opposite lane. A rough estimate is that the queue length is about 3 kilometers. It seems that Sichuan is relatively assured of Guizhou’s entry of vehicles. Guizhou, on the other hand, strictly inspects vehicles entering Sichuan.

Homecoming is like an arrow. The energy in the afternoon was pretty good, and there was almost no rest along the way.

There is no checkpoint at the junction of Sichuan and Chongqing. The checkpoint entering Chongqing is at the Jiangjin Tanghe Service Area. There were still very few vehicles at that time, but judging from the arrangement of the conical barrels, sometimes the queues would be longer. After checking body temperature, release quickly. At this time, it was getting dark, and we hurried home. But it's already much earlier than expected.

After that, Jiulongpo descends the road and enters Hongjin Avenue through the Zhongliangshan Tunnel and the Inner Ring Expressway. The road is smooth and there are few vehicles.

At 19:50 in the evening, we entered the community and nearly 12 hours of turbulence ended.

The moment I opened the door, I felt like a streaking snail finally found its shell.
