Safety management of storage tanks and process units

If there is explosion danger, a series of safety measures should be taken for open storage tanks and process devices. This paper will introduce these measures to ensure the safe operation of storage tanks and process units.

Grounding stability

If the metal wall thickness of the storage tank and process device is greater than or equal to 4 mm, there is no need to install additional lightning arresters, but the grounding must be stable and there must be at least two grounding points, and the distance between each two points should not exceed 30 meters. The impact grounding resistance should be controlled within 30 Ω.

You don't need a lightning receptor.

If the damaged metal storage tanks and process devices pose no threat to the surrounding environment, and the metal wall thickness is greater than or equal to 2.5 mm, it is not necessary to install lightning arresters.
