Four Steps to Disinfect Chicken Houses How to Thoroughly Disinfect Chicken Houses

(1) The chicken house with all chickens in and out can be disinfected according to the following procedures: First, thoroughly clean and wash the chicken house. Remove feces and other waste from the chicken house and transport it out for harmless treatment (Question 10). Then use high-pressure water spray to thoroughly rinse the ceiling, walls, doors, windows, floors and all facilities.

Disinfect immediately after the water dries. When applying liquid disinfectants, calculate the dosage at 1 liter per square meter. The order of disinfection is first up and then down, that is, spray the ceiling first, then the walls, doors and windows, and finally the floor. After finishing, open doors and windows for ventilation.

Formaldehyde and potassium permanganate can also be used for fumigation. Calculate the required dosage based on the volume of the chicken house (see question 15 for details).

(2) If infectious diseases occur, in order to reduce losses, the chicken houses and chickens must be disinfected promptly and strictly:

① Remove secretions in a timely manner and sterilize them Pest control treatment. ② Spray the environment and the body of the chicken with 0.3% peracetic acid or 0.1% Nitrogen, but be careful not to spray the head of the chicken directly. If it is a chick, it should be heated to 35-40℃ and the feathers should be dried as soon as possible. Formaldehyde fumigation can also be used to disinfect chicken bodies.
