You Shenghua (1912-1996.07.25) Major General of the People's Liberation Army

You Shenghua was a native of Wan'an County, Jiangxi Province. He was born in an extremely poor family in 1913. His original name was You Huigui.

He was awarded the rank of major general in 1955. He won the second-level August 1st Medal, the first-level Medal of Independence and Freedom, the first-level Liberation Medal, and the first-level Red Star Meritorious Medal of Honor.

Huang Ronghai (1915-1996) Major General of the People's Liberation Army

Huang Ronghai was a native of Wan'an County, Jiangxi Province. In March 1931, he joined the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and became a soldier of the 5th Independent Division of the Red Army in the Central Soviet Area and a soldier of the 22nd Red Army.

In January 1958, he was appointed deputy commander of the Guangdong Provincial Military Region. In May 1960, he was appointed Army Commander. From May 1964 to November 1969, he served as commander of the Guangdong Provincial Military Region. From July 1964 to December 1972, he served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, first secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, and director of the Municipal Revolutionary Committee. From February 1968 to December 1972, he served as deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Revolutionary Committee. In November 1969, he was appointed deputy commander of the Guangzhou Military Region and member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee. From May 1983 to June 1985, he served as consultant to the Guangzhou Military Region. Alternate member of the 9th-11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In September 1955, he was awarded the rank of major general. Won the 3rd-level Bayi Medal, the 2nd-level Independence and Freedom Medal, and the 1st-level Liberation Medal. In July 1988, he was awarded the first-class Red Star Meritorious Medal of Honor of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

"Wan'an Characters" is a chronicle of local characters, published by Jiangxi University Press, and the author is from Jiangxi Province Liu Mingsheng, Jiaoyuan Village, Mangtou Town, Wan'an County. The whole book has a total of 1.3 million words. There are 100 pages of color illustrations, recording the historical materials of local figures in Wan'an County from the founding of the county in the fourth year of Xining (1071) in the Song Dynasty to the present day. It is a local history book.
