The Life Creation of Peter's Comics
Herluf Bidstrup, an indomitable humanitarian fighter and a world-famous Danish cartoonist, was born in Berlin, Germany on September 1902 19 12. Peter's father Helmand is a landscape painter. He travels around to make a living. On the eve of World War I, he came to Germany and established a family here. The following year, his only son Peter was born here.
Peter was influenced by love since he was a child. He has a strong sympathy for the poor and a deep hatred for injustice and evil in the world.
Peter liked reading very much when he was a child. At first, he was very difficult to read. He could only read one syllable slowly at a time. Gradually, he finished reading page by page. The book opened a novel and interesting world before him, and the twists and turns of the story fascinated him. Peter once said: "Andersen's fairy tales had a great influence on my understanding of the world when I was a child." I admire Andersen's witty irony and vivid humor. " Andersen always stands on the side of the poor, and his feelings of hating the rich and sympathizing with the poor make me respect. "When he was a child, Peter lived in the shadow of war. When he was 4 years old, he witnessed a little girl and her father next door, where you were going, who went to the front line, and the scene of the German family's grief when they received the notice of being killed in the West Line. At the age of five, on his way back to Denmark with his parents, he saw a German soldier jump out of a speeding train window and cross the border to neutral Denmark because he didn't want to fight the French. 1 1 years old, he went back to Berlin with his parents and met many disabled soldiers. Some of them had no hands, some had no feet, and some were blind ... The war was devastated and terrible. At that time, inflation in Germany reached an incredible level, and 1 Danish kroner was almost convertible to 1000 Deutsche Mark.
This clear feeling of love and hate formed by Peter's life experience in magical years has had a great influence on his artistic creation all his life.
Because of his father's influence, Peter likes painting since he was a child. He once said, "Like all children, my paintings of houses, people, trees and horses make people laugh. Once my uncle laughed at my' work', and I felt very wronged, because I spent no less effort than a famous painter painting the Madonna! " When Peter was a student, his grades were very good. He learned all the subjects easily. Of course, his favorite is pictures. Seeing little Peter secretly drawing in class, the teacher often pretended not to see it, and sometimes even asked him to draw some funny pictures on the blackboard. Peter once said, "When I was a student, I thought comics had amazing power. I once drew some classmates and teachers on the blackboard in the classroom. Through observation, I drew the characteristics, habitual gestures and facial expressions of these people. These paintings not only make people laugh, but also sting the people who are painted. Since then, comics have become my weapon ... "
/kloc-at the age of 0/4, Peter's works participated in the exhibition of paintings in Copenhagen, which was well received by people. The organizer of the exhibition especially appreciated his talent and praised him for his excellent sense of humor. He even told Robin Gibel, a famous Danish cartoonist, that he was a fool, a fool. Leech? Is it acceptable for Bibei to say ether? Qiaoyan hydrazine makeup magpie? /P & gt;
/kloc-When he was 0/5 years old, Peter arrived in Berlin, where there were black spider-like signs everywhere. He asked menstruation, and menstruation told him, "This is a symbol of a political party eager to fight. If these people get the German regime, war will be inevitable! " "At that time, Peter didn't think of it, is this hateful? This word later became the object of his struggle with others. In the last few years of middle school, he went to night school and entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen after graduation. He is a diligent student and always finishes all his homework carefully, but he is not interested in drawing boring models. He likes sketching. In his spare time, he often goes to the streets or parks to draw vivid gestures of pedestrians and tourists.
1934, Peter of Art College and his classmates traveled to Germany by bike. Although the beautiful natural scenery makes young people relaxed and happy, this trip also left them with a melancholy impression: flying everywhere? The world flag is full of Nazis in brown uniforms. Signs of "Jews are forbidden to enter the country" and smashed and sealed Jewish shops can be seen everywhere. ...
1936, Peter heard Hitler's speech on the radio, and the image of the fascist tyrant was in front of him, so Peter drew him at once. Soon this comic book entitled "The Speaker" was published in the Danish progressive magazine "Cultural Struggle", with the words "Herluf Bidstrup painting, Hitler's text" printed below. This is the first anti-fascist political comic book painted by Peter. After graduating from art college, Peter began to live independently, and the money he earned could barely make ends meet. In capitalist Denmark, it is not easy for young painters to make a living by painting. Inspired by the first cartoon published in the cultural struggle that year, he decided to take the road of cartoonist. Since then, many cartoons of Peter have appeared in the cultural struggle. The Cultural Struggle is an economically embarrassing magazine. The works published by the author in this magazine are voluntary and unpaid, so Peter still lives without a livelihood. However, it didn't take long for Peter's talent to attract the attention of the private newspaper Beling Times, and they invited Peter to open a humorous cartoon column in the newspaper every day. This column has been published for more than 70 consecutive issues, which has won Peter a wide social reputation. Soon, he was hired as Art editor's agent in the Social Democrat.
The Social Democratic Party, the organ of the Danish Social Democratic Party, obviously held an anti-fascist view at that time. At first, Peter was responsible for drawing some decorations and sketches. Later, he drew some funny cartoons for Danish wine on the advertising column. Peter once said humorously, "I can't say how much my paintings have increased the sales of Danish wine, but advertising paintings are very helpful to me, because I can have the opportunity to publish a full-page humorous comic strip in the Sunday newspaper." Even I don't know how to find a good theme after a week. "1938, Britain, Japan, France, Germany and Italy concluded the Munich Agreement to carve up Czechoslovakia, and Peter created a cartoon called" The Prize of Peace "to expose this point. Because the political line of the Social Democratic Party newspaper had changed at that time, he had to hide his strong anti-fascist sentiment, express his views on political events in a tortuous way, and constantly drew many anti-fascist political cartoons.
1940 On April 9, Hitler's army captured Denmark in one day like lightning. The Danish government, which represents the interests of the bourgeoisie, surrendered, but the Danish people fought fiercely under the leadership of the Danish Production Party. The occupation lasted for five evil years.
During this period, Peter got in touch with Danish underground producers. Although he has worked in the Social Democratic newspaper for eight years, his political views are diametrically opposed to the newspaper. In order to confuse the Danish police and the Gestapo, Peter has been working in a newspaper, which has become his special shield. During the German occupation, Peter drew many cartoon postcards satirizing the cooperation with the occupiers, and used the money from selling these postcards to support the resistance movement of the Danish Production Party. Peter's humorous cartoons caused great repercussions. Peter's Sunday humorous cartoon column was rated as the most popular work in the reader selection activity held by 1942 Social Democratic Party Supplement, and his salary doubled. Nevertheless, because of his political views, he was fired at 1943.
After leaving the Social Democrat, Peter began to work for Land and People, the organ of the Danish Production Party, which was still underground. 1945 After the liberation of Denmark, newspapers were made public. Peter is responsible for drawing the daily editorial cartoons of the newspaper and starting to create Sunday humorous cartoon columns.
The newspaper Land and Man has opened up a vast world for Peter to show his talents. Although his income here is much less than that in the newspaper Social Democratic Party, he is mentally happy. Peter once said: "I have full freedom of speech in the Danish the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China organ newspaper, and I am satisfied."
