The group matches were held simultaneously in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines, and the final was held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. On February 5, 2022, FIBA officially announced that the draw ceremony for the 2023 Men's Basketball World Cup will be held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on April 29, 2023. The 2023 Men's Basketball World Cup will start on August 25th, 2023 and end on September 25th.

On February 24th, 2023, FIBA officially announced that carmelo anthony would be the global ambassador for the 2023 Men's Basketball World Cup. On April 29th, the World Cup draw ceremony was held in Manila, Philippines.

In 2023, 32 teams from all over the world will be divided into 8 groups, with 4 teams in each group. Among them, the teams in Group A include Angolan men's basketball team, Dominican men's basketball team, Philippine men's basketball team and Italian men's basketball team.

Group B consists of South Sudanese men's basketball team, Serbian men's basketball team, China men's basketball team and Puerto Rican men's basketball team, while Group C consists of American men's basketball team, Jordanian men's basketball team, Greek men's basketball team and New Zealand men's basketball team.

The teams in Group D are Egyptian men's basketball team, Mexican men's basketball team, Montenegro men's basketball team and Lithuanian men's basketball team, while the teams in Group E are German men's basketball team, Finnish men's basketball team, Australian men's basketball team and Japanese men's basketball team.

The teams in Group F are Slovenia Men's Basketball Team, Cape Verde Men's Basketball Team, Georgia Men's Basketball Team and Venezuela Men's Basketball Team. The teams in Group G are Iranian men's basketball team, Spanish men's basketball team, Ivory Coast men's basketball team and Brazilian men's basketball team. The teams in Group H are Canadian men's basketball team, Latvian men's basketball team, Lebanese men's basketball team and French men's basketball team.
