What is the goal of double carbon?

The goal of "two-carbon country" is based on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is China's efforts to deal with climate change.

Peak carbon dioxide emissions (peak? Carbon? Dioxide? Emissions) means that at a certain point, carbon dioxide emissions no longer increase to a peak, and then gradually fall back. The peak value of carbon dioxide emissions is a historical turning point of carbon dioxide emissions from increase to decrease, which indicates that carbon emissions are decoupled from economic development. The peak of carbon dioxide emission neutralizes carbon, which is called "double carbon". China promises that carbon dioxide emissions will not increase before 2030, and will gradually decrease after reaching the peak.

The goal of carbon neutrality is to absorb the emitted carbon dioxide through afforestation, energy saving and emission reduction, energy substitution, etc., and finally achieve "net zero emission". Achieving the goal of carbon neutrality requires not only the actions of the state, enterprises and social organizations, but also the actions of college students.

We contemporary college students should make efforts in the following aspects:

First, energy conservation and emission reduction are reflected in the lifestyle of basic necessities of life and the practice of green and low-carbon life. For example, we go to school by bike, take public transportation, and drive fewer private cars at home; Reduce buy buy and donate second-hand clothes; Eat less beef (cows are ruminants, and fart and burp to produce a lot of methane, with high carbon dioxide equivalent); Reduce food waste; Using energy-saving lamps, frequency conversion appliances and air conditioners at home in summer can save energy and reduce emissions;

Second: use clean energy, photovoltaic, wind power and other electricity. If conditions permit, photovoltaic power generation equipment can be installed on the roof for self-production;

Third: increase carbon absorption, afforestation, etc.

Fourthly, what college students can do is to do more research on the technology and application of carbon capture. At present, the cost of carbon capture is very high. If the cost can be greatly reduced, the application of carbon capture will bring shortcuts for human beings to cope with climate change.

If we can't successfully reduce greenhouse gas emissions and human beings can't control the rise of the global average temperature, then college students should take good exercise and be stronger to adapt to climate change and all kinds of extreme weather brought about by climate change.

Contemporary college students are the younger generation, people whose thoughts and physical strength are at the top of the parabola, and they are the hope of the country and all mankind in the next ten or twenty years. We should pay more attention to the "double carbon target" and climate change.
