The story of eight women throwing themselves into the river is brief.

Brief introduction: During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period (1938+00), Leng Yun led eight female officers and men to wage fierce battles with the Japanese puppet troops. They attracted the fire of the Japanese and puppet troops and made the main force get rid of the enemy's attacks and be besieged by the enemy. Faced with being forced to surrender, he entered Wushun River and made a heroic sacrifice.

In order to carry forward the spirit of the Eight Women Martyrs, the groundbreaking ceremony for the "Eight Women Throwing into the River Monument" was held in Mudanjiang City on September 7th. 1986. Kang Keqing, then vice chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the All-China Women's Federation, laid the foundation stone for the project, and wrote an inscription: "Eight women, immortal!"

1957, Wang Shenglie, a 34-year-old famous painter in China and the founder of "Kanto Painting School", created a famous painting "Eight Women Throwing into the River", which has been praised for more than half a century, and is now collected in the China Military Museum.

"Eight Women Throwing into the River" is a revolutionary historical painting based on the true and touching story of eight female soldiers of the anti-Japanese Coalition forces who collectively threw themselves into the river in order not to be captured alive by the enemy.
