The results show that 86% of dog owners in urban areas are wage earners, and their per capita monthly income is mostly below that of 8 yuan. In May, 1999, regarding the living conditions of small animals, the Association and the American Society for Animal and Environmental Protection gathered in Beijing, and had a cordial exchange of experiences on issues of common concern and discussion.
