Xiao Guohua was born on February 22, 1900. His father Xiao Xunfang was the principal of Nanchang Legal and Political College. Xiao Guohua came to Nanchang with his parents when he was 9 years old. After graduating from Mingde Primary School at the age of 15, he was admitted to the First Girls Normal School of Jiangxi Province. In school, Xiao Guohua received new education and liberated his mind. In 1924, Xiao Guohua joined the Jiangxi Youth Association founded by the Socialist Youth League and was selected as a representative of the Nanchang Student Federation.

In 1925, the "May 30th Massacre" occurred. Xiao Guohua ran day and night, participated in demonstrations, seized and burned Japanese goods, posted slogans, distributed leaflets, raised funds and donations, gave speeches and publicity, and mobilized the masses to actively participate in the anti-imperialist struggle. . In the same year, Xiao Guohua joined the Communist Party of China after being introduced by Zou Nu and Zhao Xingnong.

In September 1926, the Kuomintang cooperated and the Nanchang Kuomintang Department was established. Xiao Guohua was elected as the executive member of the Municipal Party Department and Minister of Women, and with the help of Cai Chang, the Nanchang Women's Liberation Association was established. , served as chairman of the party affairs committee. In order to raise the consciousness of the working people, she often went to female workers to do propaganda and agitation work, and led them to participate in revolutionary activities. At the same time, at the all-girls school she attended, she led students to launch a tit-for-tat struggle with the reactionary principal Zeng Huaying, publicly exposing her various crimes of persecuting progressive students.

In July 1927, Chiang Kai-shek openly betrayed the revolution and massacred communists. Xiao Guohua and the leftists of the Kuomintang were escorted out of Nanchang. At that time, Xiao Guohua was about to give birth and returned to her husband's house in Fengxin. In Fengxin, Xiao Guohua still secretly conspired to lead the local revolutionary movement. These were quickly detected by the Nanchang Guard Command. Therefore, Xiao Guohua was arrested by the enemy on the night of the 13th day after giving birth and was escorted back to Nanchang.

Xiao Guohua stood upright in court and sternly denounced Chiang Kai-shek's various crimes of betraying Sun Yat-sen, betraying the revolution, and killing workers, peasants and patriots. In front of the enemy's tools, she remained steadfast and disregarded life and death. The enemy's fists, whips, pepper spray, tiger stools, and fake shootings could not make her surrender.

At that time, the elderly mother asked for help everywhere and wanted to bail Xiao Guohua out of prison, but Xiao Guohua refused to sign the surrender form.

In 1930, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army established revolutionary base areas in southern Jiangxi and western Fujian. The revolutionary fire threatened Nanchang, and the reactionaries were panicked. They then brutally tortured more than 300 Communists including Xiao Guohua. massacre.

Xiao Guohua wrote in his last diary in prison: "For the sake of communism, I have long put my own life at risk. I am willing to die for communism: for the country. I deserve to die for my nation!”
