The development of the elderly care industry is particularly urgent. During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, my country's elderly care service capabilities have improved, but industrial development still faces three major shortcomings: insufficient effective supply, low integration of medical and nursing care, and difficulties in recruiting professional talents. How will my country's elderly care industry develop during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period? This article will analyze it from two aspects: development focus and development goals.

1. Review of the development of the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”

——Elderly care service capabilities have been improved

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the scale of my country's elderly care industry has continued to expand and its service capabilities have improved. From 2016 to 2019, the number of elderly care service institutions nationwide increased from 28,000 to 38,000, and the number of elderly care service beds It also increased from 6.8 million to 8.238 million.

——There are still three major shortcomings in industrial development

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, brand building is also an important part of the development of the senior care industry. China's top ten brands of senior care and the top ten brands of smart senior care Big brands and the top ten brands of senior care communities have been released one after another, and according to data from the Ministry of Civil Affairs, as of the end of 2019, more than 50 senior care institutions and nearly 40 senior care beds across the country were organized by social forces.

However, with the trend of continuous improvement in industrial scale and service capabilities, the development of my country's elderly care industry still has the following three major shortcomings.

——Expand market supply and promote elderly care consumption
