On June 5438+February 2 1 day, 2000, three gangsters stabbed two people and snatched more than 800,000 yuan before fleeing. On February 24, 2003, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Jiashi, Xinjiang, causing heavy casualties. 500 officers and men of the third detachment of the Xinjiang Armed Police Corps Command and 50 medical staff formed a disaster relief commando team, and the hundred-mile attack took the lead in reaching Chak Township in Kangkul, where the disaster was serious.

In the face of successive aftershocks and broken walls that may collapse at any time, officers and men picked up the buried people and property from the ruins with their hands and shoulders. In half a month's time, the commando team rescued 780 wounded and sick people, helped more than 3,000 victims, cleared and demolished more than 3,500 dangerous houses, set up 5,480 tents and sheds, and seized more than 2,700 tons of materials.

Xinjiang Mutu Earthquake Reclamation Area suffers from perennial drought and water shortage. People of all ethnic groups living here drink waterlogged dam water with harmful elements such as fluorine and arsenic exceeding the standard for a long time, which affects their health. Since 1998, the army has invested in drilling a number of sweet wells and distributed water purifiers for people of all ethnic groups.

The Kekeya Greening Project on the edge of Tarim Basin is a grand project highly praised by the United Nations Environmental Protection Agency.
