Hakka settlements have always been in an agricultural society, and Hakkas have brought the advanced farming civilization of the Central Plains from the south to ensure the drought and flood in their settlements, so the development of wine-making industry has its realistic material and economic basis; Thirdly, Hakka people live in vast mountainous areas, with harsh natural conditions and high labor intensity. They need wine very much to keep out the cold or relieve fatigue.

But just as Guangzhou people like to "sigh morning tea" and Chaoshan people like to drink "kung fu tea", Hakka people are famous for their ability to drink and good drinking in the south.

Qianhu Banquet, an ancient wine cultural activity, is also preserved in Tingzhou, the capital of Hakka.

"Thousand Pots Banquet" spread in most rural areas of Changting County, which began in the reign of Kangxi and has a history of more than 300 years.

The pot symbolizes happiness. In the feast, it is full of Hakka's enthusiasm, simplicity, richness and wishes.

Rice wine is an essential drink in Hakka life.

From birth, study to death, rice wine has been accompanied by Hakka people, just like the soul of Hakka people, which is indispensable.

As early as the Tang Dynasty, Hakka rice wine was very famous. In Tingzhou, the capital of Hakka (now Changting, Fujian), Zhang Jiuling, a famous figure in the Tang Dynasty, wrote a poem describing Hakka rice wine (Xie Gong Lou), which perfectly described the color, aroma and taste of Hakka rice wine.
