At the same time, Shanwei sent a working group to Lufeng for supervision. Lufeng City and Donghai Town formed a working group to go to the village to do work, respond to demands, and maintain order. The situation calmed down on the evening of September 22. On the 23rd, normal order was restored in Wukan Village.

After the incident, the party and government at both levels of Shanwei and Lufeng cities carried out comprehensive work in villages and households, and the thinking of some villagers began to change for the better. The villagers resumed normal production and living order on November 24, three days after the market and fishing strike.
