What material is the statue in Cunjin Park made of?

The last stop of the Zhanjiang trip was Cunjinqiao Park in Chikan District. Why choose a park as your travel destination? That's because this is not an ordinary park. This park is related to the history of Zhanjiang and expresses the Chinese people's feelings about their family and country that "every inch of land is precious."

A corner of the park

The main entrance of the park is located in the northeast. There is a majestic gate tower at the entrance, with "Cunjin Bridge Park" written in gold letters on a red background. Walking into the gate, there is a square inside, with attraction signs on the side. There is usually a signboard near the tourist attractions in Zhanjiang, which reads "Blue Sky, Blue Sea". This should be a promotional slogan for Zhanjiang tourism. According to the explanation on the sign, "Inch of Gold and Haoqi" is one of the eight scenic spots in Zhanjiang. The park was originally called "Xishan Park" and was built in 1958. It was renamed to commemorate the Suixi people's anti-French struggle.

When I came here in the morning, there was an aunt practicing Baduanjin in the square. There is a very eye-catching statue behind the square. It is a white marble sculpture of a young man holding a steel knife in his hand. The tip of the knife is inserted into the ground, and a heroic spirit blows towards his face. On the base of the statue, seven shining golden characters are engraved: "One inch of rivers and one inch of gold." These seven characters were inscribed by Guo Moruo, and they express the theme of the park.

This park is very large and is basically built around three lakes. The largest one in the middle is called Yueying Lake. Yuanyuan Lake and Yueying Lake in the north are connected together and separated by a nine-hole bridge. There is also a small lake in the southwest called Shenxian Lake. There is a small stream between Shenxian Lake and Yueying Lake, which is called Immortal Stream. There is a side stream garden here, with sculptures of the Eight Immortals standing in the garden, making people feel like they are immortals. Full of energy. The lake is surrounded by rolling hills with very dense vegetation, many tall ancient trees, and a quiet environment. The park is full of people exercising, dancing, playing ball, running, and walking, creating a peaceful and peaceful scene.

Nine-hole Bridge

On a hillside on the southwest side of the park, there is a monument to the Zhanjiang Revolutionary Martyrs. This place is located in the back mountain and is very secluded. There are several sports fields at the foot of the mountain where many people play ball. Follow the steps to the top of the mountain to reach the majestic monument.

Martyrs Monument

Since it is called Cunjin Bridge Park, there should be a bridge called Cunjin Bridge in the park. Starting from the Nine-hole Bridge at the main entrance, we walked along the lakeside greenway until we reached the monument on the back mountain, and then returned along the lakeside. We saw many bridges on the way, but we did not find the Cunjin Bridge.

The beautiful arch bridge on the lake

Later, I stood on the nine-hole bridge and looked towards the direction of Guanyuan Lake in the north. I found a bridge at the other end of the lake. There are still cars passing on the bridge. There are three characters on the bridge. If you identify it carefully, you will find that it is "Inch Gold Bridge". Go out from the north gate of the park and follow the greenway by the lake to the bridge. You will find a jumping bridge here, which is composed of a circular cement platform. It is very interesting. So, like a frog, jump to the other side. These round platforms are like lotus leaves.
