Intermittent need to produce high quality vegetables. In the mid-1980s, the county began to develop early-maturing vegetables in the low-heat valley areas of the Beipanjiang and Dabang river basins.

In the process of developing the vegetable industry, Guanling has targeted the Hong Kong and Macao markets in recent years, introducing Dongguan Runfeng (International) Vegetable Trading Center, accelerating the construction of an important base for supplying vegetables to Hong Kong and Macao, and becoming a "vegetable garden" for Hong Kong and Macao. one.

Guanling also adopts the model of "company, base, cooperative, and farmer" to develop as a team. At present, Guanling's standardized vegetable production base for Hong Kong and Macao reaches 22,000 acres, with an annual output of 130,000 tons of vegetables, an output value of more than 150 million yuan, and an annual income of more than 75 million yuan.

Driven by the Hong Kong and Macao markets, so far, the county has built four major vegetable bases: First, a breakfast vegetable and winter fruit and vegetable production base of 38,200 acres within 24 kilometers along the Tapang River Basin. The second is the 12,000-acre early-maturing vegetable pea (hu) bean base, early-maturing watermelon and early-maturing vegetable production base in the Beipanjiang River Basin and Puli Township centered on Xinpu Town. Third, 16,700 acres of summer and autumn off-season vegetable bases have been developed at an altitude of 1,200-1,400 meters. The fourth is a 10,000-acre leafy vegetable production base in Hong Kong and Macao with Guansuo as the center.
