What is the main content of grassland protection?

The main control measures include plant quarantine, pest control, chemical control, physical control (such as catching rats with mousetraps), ecological control (such as burning residual grass, rational use of grassland, mixed sowing of different kinds or varieties of pasture) and biological control. Chemical control is more commonly used.

In recent years, the comprehensive management theory holds that pests are an integral part of grassland ecosystem, and it is not necessary to make them completely extinct. Instead, measures should be taken to adjust the relationship and function of various factors in the system to control its population below the level of economic harm in order to obtain the maximum economic benefits. In addition, many countries also use administrative and legal means to protect grassland resources. For example, the Grassland Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) contains provisions on stopping excessive reclamation and grazing, prohibiting the collection or hunting of precious animal and plant resources, and preventing fires, all of which belong to the broad scope of grassland protection.
