These accidents are all caused by oil thieves cutting open the oil pipeline and causing a large amount of oil leakage. The safety management of oil pipelines in Nigeria has always been a headache for the government.
In fact, the safety management of oil and gas pipelines is a prominent problem faced by all countries. So far, China has built 60,000 kilometers of oil and gas pipelines. With the aging of pipelines, the phenomenon of stealing oil and gas occurs from time to time when laying pipelines in underdeveloped areas such as rural areas, which directly threatens the safe operation of pipelines and greatly increases the maintenance cost and risk of pipelines. The oil pipes stolen by oil thieves are directly stuck to the pipeline by means of pipe clamping and lead sealing, which will bring the danger of oil leakage and explosion at any time.
