Zunyi Medical College is the first medical undergraduate college founded by the Communist Party of China (CPC) after the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The school was founded in 1947, formerly known as Kanto Medical College. 1949 Kanto Medical College was merged into Dalian University and renamed Dalian University Medical College. 1950 Dalian University was abolished and Dalian Medical College became independent. 1969, in order to support the "third-line construction", the school moved south to Zunyi and changed its name to Zunyi Medical College. 20 18 was renamed Zunyi Medical College.
