Suggestions on standardizing street characters
In your spare time, if you stroll through the streets, you will find that there are languages everywhere, but when you look carefully, the names of shops, slogans and plaques on the streets are not uniform, some are simplified characters, some are traditional characters, some are rare characters, and some are even misspelled ... all kinds and uneven. This is because a considerable number of people have not paid enough attention to standardizing street characters, and the relevant departments are not strict in discipline, which makes these phenomena more and more serious.
In my opinion, we can't ignore the irregular use of Chinese characters, such as: some people write "crab" as "sting"; Some write the "night" of supper as "Xiao"; Some write "orchid" as "orchid" and so on. These words have brought us more or less influence. Primary school students who have just entered school don't have a deep grasp of Chinese. After they come into contact with these irregular words, over time, they "replace right with wrong". How wrong it is! Nowadays, Foshan, my hometown, is very busy to welcome the arrival of the provincial games, building roads, gymnasiums and improving greening. But we should also focus on the small culture on the street, from which we can also reflect the face of Foshan. To this end, I put forward the following suggestions:
1. The industrial and commercial departments should strictly manage the approval of public house numbers, because this is the source of nonstandard street characters, and we should put an end to it first.
Second, the relevant departments should make regular inspections to prevent "fish escaping from the net" and make the street words uniform and standardized.
Third, publicize the importance of standardizing street characters in the form of media, and strengthen the public's awareness.
Fourth, citizens should be self-disciplined, especially some politicians and celebrities. When they write inscriptions and plaques for commercial buildings and companies, they should not express what they think is a word at will on the grounds of habit. If everyone does his part, the number of irregular words will be greatly reduced.
5. Warn the shop language that is not standardized enough, and impose appropriate punishment on those who refuse to mend their ways.
Sixth, the school should organize such meaningful comprehensive practical activities, so that the flowers of the motherland can understand this aspect from an early age and raise their awareness.
As the hometown of the third largest city in Guangdong Province, Foshan's economy and tourism are constantly developing. To make Foshan give a good impression to tourists from all over the world, we need not only "tall buildings and wide roads", but also small characters on the streets, which reflects the place of Foshan's culture and education. Perhaps, what I have provided is not comprehensive, but this is a sincere suggestion from a middle school student! May Foshan do better and better in standardizing street characters!
standardize street writing and improve the cultural taste of "cultural Yangzhou"
Yangzhou is an ancient cultural city. It is famous in China for its profound cultural accumulation and beautiful scenery. After winning the "Best Habitat Award" issued by the United Nations in 26, it has become a paradise on earth that many foreign tourists yearn for.
However, at present, many small shops on the streets of Yangzhou have many signs with different characters, which makes people feel both ridiculous and saddened, which really insults the name of Yangzhou as a civilized ancient city. For example, the furniture of a furniture store should be furniture, the image of a photo studio should be phase, a decoration company should be decoration company, and an oil shop should be painting. There is also a hairdressing center that uses traditional Chinese characters for showing off, but it should actually be hairdressing. Not only is there something wrong with the signboard, but many small advertisements made by small shops themselves are also full of words. Write "retail" as "for sale", "cantaloupe" as "cantaloupe" and "casserole" as "casserole".
The use of Chinese characters and pinyin characters must be correct and standardized, and conform to the standards stipulated in the Law of the State on Common Languages and Characters. Street characters should be in good shape, and there should be no residual characters or missing characters. Simplified traditional characters, obsolete variant characters and old-style characters should not be used, simplified characters in the abolished Second Chinese Character Simplification Scheme (Draft) should not be used, and self-made simplified characters and typos should not be used. Among them, the registered trademark stereotypes, special circumstances approved by the relevant departments of the State Council, etc., and there are relevant supporting materials to prove that traditional Chinese characters and variant Chinese characters can be retained or used. We think:
1. The correct and standardized use of street language in the city directly reflects the cultural taste of the city. Some traditional Chinese characters, variant Chinese characters and simplified Chinese characters that have been eliminated are still used frequently, which leads to jokes. Typos, variant characters and broken characters not only damage the image of the city, but also mislead primary and secondary school students. Many students suffer from street typos, such as "blue ball". Not only on the street, but also on TV, there are many other words, and some business advertisements deliberately create ideas with homophones, and come up with something like "endless riding" and "beauty of eating whole foods", which greatly misleads children and affects their mastery of correct knowledge.
2. Standard characters must be used for public facilities, signboards, advertisements and enterprise names. In some special occasions, if books, calligraphy works, registered trademarks, publicity to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, etc. related to ancient Chinese, classical literature, history, archaeology and ancient philology are used. Traditional Chinese characters are protected as cultural heritage and allowed to exist in certain fields and specific areas.
Third, city managers should strengthen the supervision and management of street language, and correct the missing and damaged words as soon as possible. At the same time, businesses should also be self-disciplined and try to put an end to the use of typos and nonstandard words.
4. On January 1, 21, China promulgated and implemented the National Law on Common Language and Characters, which clearly stipulated that the facilities, signboards and advertising characters in urban public places violated the relevant provisions of this law and the relevant administrative departments shall order them to make corrections; Those who refuse to make corrections shall be given a warning and urged to make corrections within a time limit. It is suggested that relevant departments jointly carry out special rectification activities, organize teachers and students in primary and secondary schools within their jurisdiction to carry out "Woodpecker" action, and conduct a general survey and registration of irregular social characters such as traditional Chinese characters, typos, variant characters and incomplete glyphs in the main streets and sections of our city, especially for the characters used in doorplates, billboards and slogans, unit name plates, store name plates, signs, publicity posters, and windows. Among them, the main nonstandard words are concentrated on traditional Chinese characters and typos. Shops that use irregular words immediately correct themselves; Without rectification, the municipal, district education, industry and commerce, urban management departments jointly issued a notice to be ordered to make corrections within a time limit; If it fails to make corrections within the time limit, it shall be punished according to the Law of the State on Common Languages and other relevant laws and regulations.
