In the Sino-French War at the end of 19, Vietnam became a French colony because of China's "unbeaten and defeated".

France colonized Vietnam for a long time until World War II, when France was occupied by Germany and some colonies were occupied by Germany. However, Vietnam as far away as Asia was not occupied by Germany, but still controlled by France.

After World War II, France was greatly weakened and had to withdraw its troops from Vietnam. At this time, both the United States and the Soviet Union intend to enter this "power vacuum" zone.

After the baptism of World War II, the Vietnamese people also have a deeper sense of democracy and independence. After World War II, Vietnam gradually split into two parts. Ho Chi Minh in the north led the people in a democratic revolution with the intention of overthrowing bourgeois rule and establishing a people's democratic government. Wu Tingyan in the south is led by the bourgeois government. For the future development direction of Vietnam, there was a civil war between the two sides. At this point, France has withdrawn and can no longer take into account the situation in Vietnam.

The United States then took the opportunity to enter Vietnam to help the South suppress the North. Thus, the Vietnam War in the United States began.

At first, the United States hoped to use the "special war" to quickly end the confrontation between the two sides and help the South establish a legitimate regime. Socialist countries such as the Soviet Union hope to establish a socialist democratic country here. So the two sides launched a contest.
