What is it like to live in the Netherlands?
I have lived in Holland for 5 years, one year to study for a master’s degree, and four years to work. My feelings during the year when I was studying were: time flies so fast, everything in the Netherlands is new and unknown to me, so I feel like a child who doesn’t understand anything. I have to learn all the procedures over again, including how to buy a train. Tickets, how to make an appointment at the city hall, how to see a doctor, how to attend classes and exams, etc. This feeling is exciting and unsettling, but fortunately I met a lot of very good Dutch people, and I got a lot of help when I was most ignorant about the Netherlands.
