What are the grades of silver?

? Pure silver is also called grained silver. The highest purity that can be extracted by existing science is 99.999 or above. Pure silver is generally used as a reserve for the national treasury, so the fineness of pure silver should generally not be less than 99.6 . Silver below this level, with a content of 99% or more, is called pure silver.

Now let’s focus on color silver. Silver is also called ordinary jewelry silver or sub-silver. Adding a small amount of other metals to pure silver or pure silver, usually adding copper elements with physical and chemical substances similar to silver, can form a relatively hard colored silver. Colored silver is tough and maintains the ductility of sterling silver. It can also reduce the oxidation of silver by air. Therefore, the surface color of colored silver jewelry is less likely to change than pure silver and pure silver. The fineness regulations of silver in China are expressed as percentages, while foreign regulations generally express them in thousandths. This kind of silver has both a certain hardness and a certain toughness. It is more suitable for making jewelry such as rings, brooches, hairpins, necklaces, etc., and is easy to set with gemstones.

3. 80 silver 80 silver is also called trendy silver. The English mark is 800S, which means jewelry silver containing 80% silver and 20% copper. This kind of silver has high hardness and good elasticity, and is suitable for making hand bells, collar pins, hat flowers, tableware, tea sets, smoking sets or buckles, springs or needles on jewelry.

Colored silver also includes 70 silver, 60 silver, 50 silver and other varieties according to use and needs.

Now let’s talk about Thai Silver. Thai silver originally originated from Thailand, so it is usually called Thai silver, also known as "black silver". Thai silver is made by taking advantage of the property of silver that turns black when it comes into contact with sulfur. It is a mixture of silver and sulfur that is heated and melted on silver jewelry to form a covering layer in a glassy state. The black silver covering layer is loose and black, which contrasts sharply with the smooth whiteness of the silver, creating a special visual effect. After special anti-aging treatment, black silver jewelry not only does not discolor for a long time, but also has a surface hardness that is much stronger than ordinary silver. 925 silver: refers to silver containing 92.5% silver, which is recognized as the pure silver standard by international standards. 100 silver is relatively soft and cannot be shaped during production, making it inconvenient to make silver jewelry. Plain silver: 925 silver is plated with white rhodium (called platinum in the industry) ), which can delay the yellowing and blackening of silver due to oxidation or sulfide to the greatest extent possible.
