Why are people in China keen to talk about American mathematics?

Nowadays, there are often some foreign videos or articles on the Internet, which will say that Americans are poor at math and even know nothing about basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. But in reality, the scientific research strength of the United States ranks first in the world, and according to the current situation, no country can easily surpass its own scientific and technological level for the time being.

1. Is American mathematics really bad?

Are American students poor at math? If you compare American students with China students, there are really many ways to prove that they are poor at math. Many simple mathematics, such as 30- 16= 14, need to use computers. On facebook, many American imperialists can't even count 6- 1*0+2/2, which makes many domestic friends feel superior.

For most American students, the key is to "make the best use of everything". If some things can be solved immediately with tools, then I don't need to do it myself. Many friends may disagree, thinking that this is a sign of a person's weak ability, but it is also the advantage of others.

Perhaps, in my opinion, many math education in China pay too much attention to technical schemes, various Olympic math competitions and key math classes, which actually emphasize skills. Although Americans' mathematical ability is really average, their scientific research level has always been in the leading position in the world.
