Orphan's Reflection Part I: My Film Review of Orphan
Orphan is the second thriller by director Zomi Hilla, which can also be said to be a suspense film and a drama film. The story told in the film revolves around a little girl named Esther. Unexpected abortion makes John (Peter Sarsgaard) and Kate (Vera Farmiga Vera? Famiga was devastated, Kate's spirit almost collapsed, and their marriage was in jeopardy. In order to save their marriage from ruin, the couple went to an orphanage in the hope of adopting a child. Here, they met the maverick little girl Isabelle Fuhrman Isabel? Furman). The unique temperament of the little girl attracted Mr. and Mrs. John, and finally Esther became a member of their family. However, with the arrival of East, all kinds of bizarre events followed. Kate vaguely felt that there was an unknown side behind this little girl with an angel face ... With the development of the plot, Kate revealed the final face of Esther in the film. It turns out that she is not a little girl, but a woman with physical defects and a mental patient.
First, ideological comments
Kindness, evil, selfishness, cruelty, hatred, jealousy and deception are all human nature. We may have seen many thrillers, such as undead corpse, piranha, Resident Evil and so on. But the real fear does not come from the imaginary world, but from the familiar earthly life around us that we often turn a blind eye to. Therefore, in the name of human nature or demons, all abnormal, twisted and heinous crimes are rampant. What kind of fear should be added if the darkness that should belong to adults is projected on innocent children? This film has aroused the audience's thinking about human nature. Esther, the heroine in the film, is the embodiment of evil, while Kate's family and the nuns in the play are the embodiment of kindness.
There are many evil people in real life. You can see them on the bus, and you can also see them on the main road ... The plot in this movie can also be said to be a movie about psychology, which shows the viciousness and kindness of human nature. Evil people always have heavy scheming and are more likely to play treacherous scheming, but I think there may be a story like a movie in real life, and she is not exaggerating. You may feel terrible, but I think this film focuses on the purpose of guiding people to reflect on human nature, so I think this film still reveals reality as unrealistic.
after watching this film, I have quite a feeling. I deeply sigh that I live in a quiet and harmonious environment. I have a harmonious family, loving and always protecting my family. There are no those terrible psychological defects around. But after watching this film, it reminds me of some things and people in society. We often see news in newspapers that our son is addicted to killing and kidnapping his parents. See the crazy behavior of psychopaths; But at the same time, we can see the good deeds done by those just people; You can see that there are many people who are charitable. Therefore, both goodness and evil of human nature exist. Only by being ourselves and becoming a kind and caring person can we make this society more harmonious. One thing that makes me feel bad after watching this film is that there are some bloody pictures in the film, and the film director actually let these pictures appear in front of the three children in the film. And let the heroine personally carry out those vicious acts. What kind of memories or nightmares will those three children have in their childhood?
Second, comment on the characters
The important role in the play is naturally the heroine Esther (Isabel Foreman), and the role played by this little girl in the film has a great age span. She not only plays a teenage girl, but also plays a psychotic woman in her thirties. After watching this film, people have to sigh at her acting skills. Her grasp of expression and her grasp of that feeling are really in place, and she gives people a shock.
There is also a little girl Max in the play, whose appearance is undoubtedly a contrast with Esther. She is kind and lovely. Although she has language hearing impairment, she still shows a strong, brave, naive and intelligent side when facing the demon Esther. She knows how to protect herself and her family.
Kate, the mother of the play, is also one of the main tasks, and the director arranged this character to let her expose the true face of Esther. In her, you can see a mother's care and protection for her children. You can see that there are too many tragedies happening to her, first the miscarriage of her unborn child, then the persecution of two children and even the murder of her husband. When she discovered
Esther's weirdness, when she tried to protect the whole family, everyone didn't want to believe her, but regarded her as mentally abnormal. What an unbearable pain it is. Then she still fought hard to protect her family, until she finally saved her children and tore Esther's mask.
III. Comments on movie features
The background music used in this movie is quite good. In an emergency, thrilling music can always be released. Moreover, these music are very peaceful and soft music, not creating an atmosphere with horrible sounds like those in ghost films, but making people feel a kind of fear quietly. This also completely achieved the effect of a thriller, with that sound effect and added the thriller atmosphere of the plot. Let's talk about the picture of the film again. This film is a work of director Zomi Hila in 29. Because it was made in a short time, the film adopts more advanced technology and the natural picture effect is also very good. The overall picture color of this film is dark gray, which creates that kind of scary atmosphere. The style is similar to that of Harry Potter movies, and it is also such a beautiful golden canon. Although it is not as gorgeous as Harry Potter, it is also elegant. As for some details in the film, the director also grasps very well, even if it is a door, you can guess whether the heroine Esther's horrible eyes will appear behind that door. It is undoubtedly a great challenge to guide such a young girl to play such a dual character role, which not only shows the heroine's superb acting skills, but also shows the director's guiding ability and the accuracy of the role.
The language of this movie is also concise, and the whole movie is fast-paced, so it won't make people feel like watching that kind of romantic movie. At the end of the film, the heroine Esther and Kate are fighting on the ice. In the last picture, you can see Kate kicking Esther's head sideways and Esther sinking into the water. This is undoubtedly a big suspense? Let people imagine whether East has died in the end. Or will you continue to appear in which next city, continue to disguise yourself and frame others. There is no proof of this. There are many conjectures about the ending on the Internet, but I think what I want more is the end of the heroine's life.
orphans' reflections on the second part: feelings about orphanages
This year's May 4th Youth Day was supposed to be a publicity activity, and I happened to be selected as the host. I was very excited and thought it was a good opportunity to show off, but I was a little disappointed when I was told to cancel the activity the day before, but I changed it to a children's welfare home, and suddenly felt that it was better to cancel such an activity because it was more meaningful.
We got together early in the morning, and the leaders arranged what we should do. When we arrived at the welfare home, I didn't know why we felt so heavy, because I had never been to this place, and I could feel that everyone felt the same. We followed the staff of the welfare home into the building with condolences, put down our things and began to lead us to the nursery, because I am a person who particularly likes children. When I got there, I found that they were all very healthy children, and I was particularly uncomfortable when they infected me with their angelic smiles. Why would such a lovely child still be abandoned? Can't afford it? Or irresponsible unmarried pregnant mother? No matter what the reason, how can you have the heart to abandon your own flesh and blood? They are still so young. As parents, you are cruel. There are twins named Dahu and Erhu. You can't imagine how cute they are. When I picked up Dahu, my whole eyebrows and eyes were smiling, much like the crayon Shinchan in my childhood gossip, which was really cute.
Erhu seems to be bullied by his elder brother all the time, acting like a little sunflower. Don't mention how interesting it is. Can you imagine that when someone found them, they were already hairy and dying? There is another girl, I hold her most of the time, and she will always scratch my face. When I return her to the volunteers, she still wants me to hug her. It seems that scratching my face is her greatest pleasure. They are not disabled, and they are all particularly beautiful. I feel so depressed that I can't breathe. I am thinking that if I have the ability, I must adopt them in the future and help these lovely children. I really feel sorry for them. Their eyes are so clear.
this is the first time, the first time to see those most realistic situations in life. I understand it for the first time. It turns out that we are all very happy and lucky. As long as someone hurts children, whether they are born or raised, they are very happy compared with them. Those so-called emotional frustrations and disappointments in life are so small and insignificant compared with their lives at the moment. It turns out that a happy life is not necessarily born in a rich family, but as long as there is a family that makes you grow up happily, as long as there are parents who love you, it is the greatest happiness. Then we went to the disabled children, who were not as cute as the previous children, and they were all about 7 or 8 years old. It may make others feel far away from them, but as soon as I entered the room, I saw a boy curled up in bed with dull eyes. I touched his hand. He grabbed my hand and I could feel that he was very happy, but at the moment I talked to my colleague, he bit my hand. To be honest, I was really scared. When a volunteer told us that he would never stand up, I didn't know why my heart was so painful, and These children, faced with the helplessness of reality, have no choice. They don't seem to know as much as babies. Perhaps their mood has changed too much and their ups and downs are too great, so they can't recover at once. My colleague Jia Ning and I walked at the back and secretly shed tears.
Then we went to the older children's floor. They are very good and will take the initiative to call their uncles and aunts. I think they are much more sensible than those children who are not satisfied with living in a happy family. Those children who are spoiled by adults never take the initiative to say hello to their uncles and aunts. Just let them study hard and they will have many conditions. The children of the poor have long been in charge, and these children without father and mother have realized this very early. I feel even more depressed, still struggling with that question, why, there are so many lovely children in the world who will be abandoned.
Their living conditions are very good, and there are many people who care for them, but those are far less than the love given by their parents. Don't they cry silently in bed and imagine their parents' appearance, their parents' love and their own home? If they grow up and walk out of the welfare home and see the happiness in the street, don't they have inferiority complex and defects? Those who abandon their children will be condemned by your conscience all your life. If you don't have children, it's better not to have them!
I believe that they are all abandoned angels, but those parents who abandoned them are not blessed to have them. I hope those children and all the children who have the same experience will grow up healthily, happily and happily. Bless you!
Reflections on Orphans Part III: Thoughts on the trip to the orphanage
On the morning of May 1th, 29, we arrived at the orphanage next to the railway station by bus and started our first volunteer journey. Entering the orphanage, we saw eight or nine children in the room on the second floor. They were very happy to see us coming, and the oldest child even ran cheerfully and dragged us into their game room. Most of them are between four and eight years old. They are innocent and lovely. Although they are unable to speak clearly due to physical defects, this does not hinder their contact with the outside world in their children's world.
We entered their game room. The room was simple and spacious, and their toys were scattered on the ground. Several children warmly invited us to join their game. Because of their physical defects, they can't have the IQ of normal children, and some of them are physically weak, but their eyes are full of children's innocence and desire to be cared for. We spread out and played games with different children. At first, I played with a little boy. Although he was quite awkward, everything had to be according to his preferences. If you suggested him to play with the ball while he was playing with the jigsaw puzzle, he could directly help you throw the ball aside and let you continue playing with the model. It's quite an interesting child. Later, I played with a little girl, who was introverted, because I talked to her a lot at first, but she always responded in silence. Later, I turned to play with her toys, but she always held the toys and saw no other reaction. At that time, I really doubted whether I had the potential to amuse my children, so I gave up and was replaced by other members. Most of the other children are cheerful. Although they are not good at talking, they will try their best to make you understand what they want through body language. So we play with each other and take turns.
After that, I went back to see the girl. She sat alone watching TV. After a while, she actually smiled and laughed happily. I froze, and I realized that I was wrong. Not every child likes listening to stories, singing and playing with toys. I was bound by my fixed thinking and didn't carefully observe her preferences first. So I sat down beside her to explain the cartoons being broadcast on TV and asked her favorite characters. Although she still didn't say a word, she smiled. Later, I often saw her smile during our conversation. She may be my biggest sigh today.
Children in orphanages are special, and they need our special care because of their special nature. After this activity, I deeply understand that caring for others is not a simple matter. We think that what is good is not necessarily what they think, and we can really bring them happiness only by proceeding from their real needs. Children in orphanages may be different from normal children in their appearance and IQ, but they are all fresh lives like normal children and have the right to live a normal life. We should not discriminate against them, but should carefully observe them and try our best to care for the healthy growth of their young minds.
