As a common spraying tool, spray gun will encounter various faults in daily use. Taking SATA spray gun as an example, this paper lists several common fault causes and corrective and preventive methods. I hope the following introduction can help spray paint technicians solve the confusion in the use of spray guns.

I. Defect of sprayed concrete-deformation of sprayed concrete (Figure 1)

Causes: The air holes (fan holes or auxiliary atomizing holes) on the cover are blocked by dry solid paint, which makes the air flow abnormally distort the spraying width; Incorrect intake pressure (too high/too low), resulting in interrupted or too small injection range.

Correction method: clean the air holes on the spray gun and hood according to the cleaning instructions; Using SATAadam 2 digital regulator? Adam, SATA digital spray gun, or install SATA gun tail barometer to adjust the air pressure of spray gun.

Second, the spray width defect-the spray width is narrow in the middle and large at both ends (Figure 2).

Reason: the paint viscosity is too low, and the paint viscosity does not match the spraying air pressure; The air pressure of spraying is too high, and the air pressure of fan-shaped holes is too high, which makes the center of spraying amplitude sag; The atomization hole is blocked, which makes relatively more air flow to the central depression of the fan-shaped Kong Ling spray (Figure 3).

Correction method: adjust the viscosity of paint or switch to a nozzle with appropriate caliber; Using SATAadam 2 digital regulator? Adam, SATA digital spray gun, or install SATA gun tail barometer to adjust the appropriate spraying pressure; Clean the air holes on the cover with suitable cleaning tools, and replace the nozzle group if necessary.

Spraying defect-paint is concentrated in the center, and spraying cannot spread (Figure 4).

Reason: The spraying air pressure is too low, and the fan hole air pressure is too low to get out of the fan (Figure 5); The viscosity of the paint is too high, and the air pressure of the fan-shaped hole is not strong enough to press the paint with high viscosity into a fan; The nozzle is damaged, and the spray amplitude adjustment knob can't be opened.

Correction method: adjust the viscosity of paint or switch to a nozzle with appropriate caliber; Using SATAadam 2 digital regulator? Adam, SATA digital spray gun, or install SATA gun tail barometer to adjust the appropriate spraying pressure; Adjust the viscosity of the paint, or use a nozzle with an appropriate caliber. If the nozzle is damaged, replace the original nozzle group; Check whether the spray amplitude adjustment button is fully opened.

Fourth, spray defects-the spray is banana-shaped (Figure 6)

Cause: One fan-shaped hole is blocked or deformed, and the air pressure of the two fan-shaped holes is inconsistent; The blockage of the atomizing hole makes the air flow to the fan-shaped hole. The air pressure of one of the fan-shaped holes is increased (Figure 7).

Correction method: Clean the range hood with SATA special cleaning kit, and replace the original nozzle kit if necessary.

Five, spray defects-wet area in spray is biased to one side (Figure 8)

Cause: the fan-shaped hole or atomizing hole is blocked or deformed, and the atomized paint is biased to one side due to uneven airflow (Figure 9); The nozzle is damaged, and the gap between the atomizing hole in the center of the hood and the nozzle is uneven, which makes the atomized paint deviate to one side.

Correction method: Clean the range hood with SATA special cleaning kit, and replace the original nozzle kit if necessary.

Six, spray defects-spray twisted tilt or S-shaped (figure 10)

Cause: The fan-shaped holes are blocked or deformed, and the diagonal fan-shaped holes on both sides are blocked or deformed, which makes the spray amplitude inclined (Figure 1 1).

Correction method: Clean the range hood with SATA special cleaning kit, and replace the original nozzle kit if necessary.

Seven. Lens width defect-discontinuous lens width and jump (Figure 12)

Causes: the nozzle is not installed tightly, the seal between the nozzle and the air shunt ring is not complete, and the air runs to the paint channel; Nozzle or air shunt ring is not clean, and paint residue makes nozzle and air shunt ring not completely sealed; The sealing surface of the air distribution ring is damaged, which affects its sealing with the nozzle; The gun barrel air hole is blocked, and the blocked gun barrel air hole generates vacuum to suck air from the nozzle into the paint channel.

Correction method: use the original wrench to install the nozzle firmly, use SATA special cleaning kit to clean the nozzle, and replace the air diverter ring. Clean the vent hole of the gun can and replace the gun can if necessary. (To be continued)
